Is it just me, or does Earshot sound heavilly influenced by Tool. I mean, when the singer goes into the chorus of "How much must I live through just to get away?" he sounds VERY similar to Maynard that its just scary. Overall a good song, Earshot has some serious potential.

people... quit saying all this crap about earshot sounding like tool. it doesnt matter what goes on. its just a strange simalarity that the singer sounds like maynard in 1 or 2 parts. the fact is that they have a totally different sound than tool. you can clearly hear the difference of earshot's 2 guitarist instead of tool's 1. and also. the lyrical compound is totally different. with tool there is no certain chorus. with earshot, they have a set bridge and a set chorus. this clearly shows that they are not an imatation of tool. if they wanted to be then the lyrics would totally have to change and lose a guitar plus other things. earshot is an awsome band. they have a distinct sound and many people love it. and for all those people who wanna go deep into the song and say it means stuff that it really doesnt... it means what it says. dont read into the lyrics and make assumptions. if you do... your just depriving the song writer of what he ment it to do... to touch your soul and make you feel a part of the song by showing you that you arnt the only person who has feeling like you do.

I don't think that Earshot sounds like Tool, except for the fact that the lead singer may have a voice somewhat like Maynards. Earshot is a great band and has its own sound that is intense and very pleasing to listen to. Earshot is awesome and should not be recognized as the band that is trying to imitate Tool, but known as a band with their own unique sound.

I would like to say that earshot really kicks a$$, and that you can't deny the fact that the lead singer does sound like maynard from tool, but I really don't think that earshot is influenced by tool. The lyrics of earshot compared to tool are nothing alike. So if earshot was trying to be a tool rip off, than their lyrics would have to be similar to tools. I think that earshot is a great band and will continue to produce good music.

they do kinda sound like Tool, but that could also be a good thing because Tool is a very talented band and isn't just about simple chord progessions, their all about the not so simple chord progessions and adding alot of colors into it such as suspend 4's and 9th's....wow heh they are a good band though =)
