SONG: I Buy the Drugs
ARTIST: Electric Six
ALBUM: Switzerland (2006)
TRACK: 2
TABBED BY: Roger Ipswitch
VERSE (plinky part fronted by keyboard. It's hard to tell whether
or not the bass is playing along, but the music
video seems to suggest it, and at any rate, it's something to
do. It's up to you):
G|-------------------------------------------------| __
D|-------------------------------------------------
A|-------------------------------------------------
E|--3-3---3-4-5-5---5-6-7-7---7-8-9-9-9-9-9-8-7-6--
|
| ×3
G|----------------------------
D|----------------------------
A|----------------------------| __|
E|--3-3--3-4-5-5---5-00---77--|
CHORUS:
G|--------------------------------| |------|
D|--------------------------------| |------|
A|--5>----------------5>----------| ×2 |------|
E|------3>--0>--7>--------3>--0>--| |--8>--|
("I buy the drugs! ("You can drive for miles
I light the fire!") and miles and miles...")
VERSE (both parts) ×3
CHORUS ×1
VERSE (both parts) ×2
(pause for the weird keyboard-and-Dick-Valentine-solo)
JOINING IN WITH GUITAR (you're keeping perfect time with the
drums here; they speed up the second time, stay with
them)
G|---------------------|
D|---------------------|
A|--5-5----------------| ×2
E|-------3-3--0-0-0-0--|
("...and then, I'll send it back to you."
...and then, I'll send it back to you.")
FULL STRENGTH NOW (same idea as the Chorus, but you're hitting
the B each time now instead of every other time)
G|------------------|
D|------------------|
A|--5>--------------| ×4
E|------3>--0>--7>--|
VERSE (both parts) ×1, obviously cutting off the second part
at the first open E.

| @djhakase: Actually, it's one zip code digit away from Fox Broadcasting. It was a completely random choice, and just happened to be the address to FOX Broadcasting (except for the zip code digit, of course). 1 | |

| Actually, Dick Valentine is a cokehead, as are most of the guys in the group. I just saw them live about three weeks ago, for my birthday, and they were all high on coke. | |

| Heard this one last night on Rage. It sounds heaps like a cross between Barenaked Ladys and Weezer which seems really different for E6. Awesome. The film clip absoultely rocks too! E6 Frat Style! | |
