Hmm... to me, the person is being taken over by this memory of someone else. A very strong memory, at that. And everyone interprets songs their own ways, so blondie_9002's interpretaion is right too. Everyone's opinion is different! 1 2 3 Next

First of all please don't tell me I'm wrong because this is only how I see the song. It's about someone who believes in God but she has made some bad desicions and now He is taking over her life for the better now.

This seems to be about someone that has been forgotten by a past girlfriend/boyfriend. just my interpretation. Good song, one of my favorites mainly because of that chimey sounding effect near the beginning I honestly think amy is a siren, one of the best female singers out there

OMG! this is oneo my favorite songs, i cant believe no ones commented. I dont know what it means, but to me this song is about 2 people who knew eachother a while back, and one is very in love with the other, and later they meet and they are still in love with that person, but the person still doesnt love them and everything reminds that person of the other person

This is my personal interpretation, you don't agree, fine. This is just what _I_ feel what it's saying. Someone keeps remembering someone else (their soul mate, past life lover, etc.) and can't get him/her out of his/her head. He/She has a feeling that he/she might be going crazy (after all, how can you remember someone you've never met?) but since his/her life is without love, he/she believes in the existance of this soulmate/reincarnation. And this belief grows into an obsession ("taking over me") to the point where he/she is looking for this person because he/she believes that life isn't worth living without this special someone. In the lines where she sings "Have you forgotten all I know and all we had" plays upon my theory that he/she is wondering why his/her soulmate has not come searching for him/her. But deep within him/herself, he/she realizes that he/she is going crazy from want of love ("you're taking over me, I look in the mirror and see your face").

I am a Christian, but I have to agree, the only Evanescence song that IS about God is Tourniquet. This song seems to be about a woman who was in love with a man, but he forgot about her, and he moved away, and she wants to "find" him. It's a true Evanescence song, and it reminds me of some movie, but I can't put my finger on it.

It's not a "christian" song.
