	It is about a breakup and all those little things that remind you of that person. and wanting to keep in touch with them.

	This reminds me of situation I'm in... You care about someone a lot and they say that they care about you too but then they start drifting away from you. They stop phoning you and talking to you. You still care about them and dont' want them to leave you even though inside you know that maybe it'd be better if it was like this. If you were separated. But you still want the person to once in awhile phone you and tell you what's going on with them. Yeah. I know that doesn't completely fit the song... but for the most part it does.

	It's about how he can't stop thinking about her "I smelled you on my shirt today" but he knows that being near to her will be worse, in the long run. "Of course the hardest part is letting go/ but you've got to, or you know/ you'll end up waiting by the/ phone..." So he has to do the sucky thing and move on, to stop seeing her and separate himself from his past: "Tell you again that I'm fine/ then we go about our separate lives"
