	Maybe he's saying he promises not to TRY, but he will just DO. Because saying that he will "try" leaves room for failure.

	i don't know what this song means, but the way the lyrics are delivered is just amazing. like the spit and stutter stuff and clutter....such amazing writing i'm so sad they broke up. =(

	I hear this song from a completely different perspective from the other posters here. Most of you seem to think that the speaker is saying, "Fuck commitment" and that he doesn't really give a damn about having anything serious with his partner, but I disagree. I don't think this song is cynical at all; I think it's very intimate. He's saying, "Look, here's all I've got. This is all I can promise. Let's see what happens." I think it makes reference to some pretty fucked up attempts at past relationships and that he doesn't really want this one to get all diluded like that.
