| I think this song really is about a relationship. He was obsessed with a girl or his GF and he realized he was wrong to put her up there so highly.Like she was counting on him always coming back to him and he realized how she was playing him so he said " Gone, I don’t believe in you now I’ve seen too much I don’t believe in you now My Goddess" He thought of her like a god, could do no wrong or anything. I think thats at least what i got from it | |

| well, ill break it down here... I was knee deep in a sick love I was cross eyed under your drug (basically, he's saying i believed in the norm, everyone must be perfect dress the same etc) Schizo savior, mad messiah Fatal worship you inspired (i was right thinking the norm was wrong, you just made me think different) Gone, I don’t believe in you now I’ve seen too much I don’t believe in you now My Goddess (i realize now, im rite, your wrong, My goddess refers to the norm, the pretty girl on all the magazines, etc) You were counting on a freefall (society wanted the whole world to follow you) You laid your bet I would lose all (society blindly expected it to be the same) Chalk up one less crucifixion I kicked that sick, old addiction (Basically, hes trying to start a revolution, everyone be yourself) Now you see what you get when you lose yourself What you get when you don’t know who you are when you don’t know who you are (if we all follow the norm, the world is borring, kuz were all the same, with no differences) | |

| According to the Exies site, this song is supposed to be about breaking out of the norm and not believing the things that are told to you as a child merely beacause you were told so. Ex: "I've seen too much, I don't believe in you now" | |

| I think it's about growing up and realizing that people aren't always right. When I listen to the lyrics of this song I think about like the first time in my life when I realized Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny weren't real and the way I felt towards my parents, tachers, other adults for lying to me. Awesome song though, I had the pleasure of seeing The Exies open up for Everclear a year or two ago... awesome show. | |
