This song is so awesome. It's like the guy is trying to say he's sorry for all the things he's ever done and he'll ever do. She loves him so much that she wants to make it all ok and she'll stand by him no matter what. He's almost saying for her to just let him go but he loves her so much so don't. However, it can also be seen in a Christian perspective. The lines "You open your scarred hands to catch me when I fall" in the sence of Jesus's hands being scared from being crucified and also "Teach me to to obey". It's also saying that he'll always be there as Jesus is and that you never owe him anything. It's also similar to how my first love and I treated each other. Alot of the time we would be mean and make each other sad or angry but then come back and never leave each other. My view of the song anyway... It's also a really awesome song and I love it!
