| I think this song probably is about Kurt Cobain, actually. I'm guessing it was released after he died. And you can almost feel how much Courtney is hurting because of the emotion in her voice. I think the bit about 'doll parts' is hinting at the fact she probably felt so fake, and easy to break apart at the time. And she just wants to feel really good again...i'm not sure who she's talking to when she sings, "Someday you will ache like i ache", though. But i really do love the way she screams that at the end. It's a great song. I love Hole...i love Courtney. | |

| This is one of my favourite songs. It has so much meaning,I always feel emotional after listening to it which is really something because not a lot of songs can do that. I think the song is to a certain extent about her relationship with Kurt and how sometimes she felt like she had to almost compete for his affections -"Yeah, they really want you, they really want you, but I do too" She wanted the rock star lifestyle with the famous husband, but she also truely loved him and didnt want the fame to get in the way of their love "I want to be the girl with the most cake, I love him so much it just turns to hate" I also think that it was difficult for her with Kurts cocain problem and all and that line is also refering to the fact she loved him sooo much, but at the same time she hated him for doing it to himself, destroying his life, and part of hers. I dunno, that cud all be bullshit what Ive just said, but thats what it means to me | |

| Kurt wrote this song about Courtney. Courtney wanted to sing it but didn't really want people to know that Kurt wrote it because of the problems and accusations around his death. She claimed ownership of it but sings it in her saddest voice to show that she did still care for him. It may even be co-wrote because of the line "The girl with the most cake" which was thought to be written by Courtney and used as evidence in Courtney's case that she wrote the song. Overall it's a good song but I think it's a little too "Nirvana" to be written by Courtney, but Kurt may have written it for her. | |

| This song stems from Courtney Love's fascination with old dolls, in the imagery. But it has nothing to do with dolls. It is a personal song, in it's lyrics. Everyone can believe it's Courtney Love speaking when she says ''Someday you will ache like I ache''. It is very believable. This song is great poetry. The theme of this song is love, and being used. They might pretend to love you, but they really don't. They leave you with heartache, whether it's a lover or the world in general.Everyone breaks you.He ( or they) only love things to see them break. It is also about wanting everything, and ending up with nothing. At the end all you can say is ''Someday you will ache like I ache'' or hope they will ache like you ache someday. This song is autobiography for Courtney Love, but it could also be autobiography for a lot of people. When I was depressed once, I put the line ''Someday you will ache like I ache'' as my screensaver on my computer.Courtney Love defines heartache for both her self and the world in general in this song. This song is genuis. | |

| Excuse me gimme an f, but when I hear this song I don't get all depressed because Courtney shot Kurt, I get depressed because it's a sad song, about loving someone too much for your own good. Please, remember that everyone is an individual, and we don't need to feel what you feel, or have the same opinions. | |

| this song is so fantastic. i love driving down the road when i'm feeling depressed and just playing this song really loud singing to it. courtney has helped me so much over these past few months just by listening to her. each of her cd's works with my different mood. pretty on the inside is when i'm angry, live through this is when i'm depressed, and celebrity skin is when i'm feeling ok, except for northern star, which is another depressed song. the fakeness in this song reminds me so much of what i've been trying so hard not to be. it reminds me that i have to be true to myself, even though that's not the real meaning behind the song. | |

| This song makes me almost want to like Courtney Love. You can feel her greif, even though the record was released AFTER kurt's death. Which leads me to believe that she knew it was going to happen... she could see him dying even before it happened. I people are going to use that to say the she killed him, but everyone knows that's bullshit. It's about him, obviously. | |

| This is one of the saddest Hole songs...but it's also my favourite. it describes me so much. "I want to be the girl with the most cake..I love him so much it just hurts to hate.." "He only loves those things because he loves to see them break..I fake it so real I am beyond fake, and someday you will ache like i ache. " | |

| i think the big veins part is about her herion addiction....as for the doll parts, maybe shes saying her addiction has made her so hollow that shes fake. i dunno, just a musing. | |
