I guess the punk family really did sell. Every one likes to think everything done between the two bands was about kurt and courtney

dont be so fucking naive. Kurt Donald Cobain committed suicide on the 5th April 1994 by a SELF-INFLICTED gunshot wound to the head. he was in pain, so give the guy some fucking dignity and let him rest for fucks sake.

i'm glad that courtney love is dying since kurt is already dead. this song is about the remorse she feels for conspiring to kill kurt cobain. watch "kurt and courtney". her own father has alot to say about her and her obsessive tendencies. she was obsessed with kurt, with his fame, with his money, with the life that he allowed her to live, and when she found out he was divorcing her, well, no one else could have what she wanted. no there's not enough proof to prove any theory completely, but this is what me and many others believe. courtney love will suffer for what she knows she has done.

I dont know about that VelveteenDoll, Courtney's biography indicated that this song dated at the time of Frances being taken away. You would have to agree with that judging by the lyrics. If it was written in the 80s, Courtney must be psychic! Also, I doubt Kat Bjelland wrote this as it sounds very 'Courtney' - talking about roses, milk, etc - Courtney mentions that a lot in Live Through This songs...

*~This is my all time favorite song. There's this guy that I like a lot, and it's our song. He says it reminds him of me and I know it reminds me of him. My favorite part of the song is,"i am so dumb, just beam me up, i've had it all forever, I've had enough." It just fits the way i feel about shit perfectly. the, "I want to, I need to be, under your skin," is the part that reminds me of this guy i like*~ Heaven Leigh

I’m not saying Kat Bjelland wrote the ENTIRE song, but I know it began back in the Pagan Babies/Sugar Babylon days. And if you look at the lyrics, or actually listen to some of the songs (like 'Quiet Room' or 'Best Sunday Dress'), you would realise it's not quite like something Bjelland would have written in the Babes In Toyland era. So it's not impossible that Bjelland originally wrote this song. I'm taking this straight from the Live Through This album sleeve, and it says: '"I Think That I Would Die" written by Hole and K. Bjelland.' So there is proof that she had some sort of impact on this song, and this only would have happened in the 80's, when Love and Bjelland were in numerous bands together. In fact, I read somewhere that Bjelland wrote most of it, but then left it, and later Courtney Love and Eric Erlandson finished it off. Whether or not it actually happened like this, I don't know for sure. If you listen to Babes In Toyland's 'Ariel', you will notice the similarity between that particular song and 'I Think That I Would Die'. As far as the whole Courtney Love being psychic thing is concerned, here is a quote from her that states: "I'm not psychic, but my lyrics are."

i used to think (from reading the lyrics to Malibu, even though i love that song) that courtney couldn't write. but i was so wrong! i started listening to moer of her stuff, and she's actually a pretty good writer when she wants to be. i really like this song and i agree with slash_away_the_pain's opinion.

Wao! this song has a metaphorical meaning!! It talks about her dying (feeling sick!!) and she's talking to the drug and is wanting to feel that last fix "under her skin". That's why she says that at the beginning of the song and that 's why the song is so dark and suicidal... Well at least that is what I see!! Is awesome that somebody knows how to describe the effects with so intensity!! You go Courtney!! jajaaj!!

The lyric "under your skin" sounds like herion to me. It sounds like Courtney pleading with Kurt to love her more then he loves herion.

I agree with previous posters that the "Fuck you!" is extremely powerful. I love that part of the song and how it's out of nowhere. Look at the context of that line, it gives me chills. 1

ok, know what fucking pisses me off? when you fucking wankers accuse courtney love of killing kurt cobain. He was great, and i don't personally like her that much, but she didn't fucking kill him. and besides, if he had a lethal dose of heroin in his blood, why the fuckwould she feel the need to shoot him!? And who d'ya thnk injected him with heroin!? Himself! he was fucked up, he killed himself, he left a note (and yeah i know the leaving the band theory which is also complete shit) no go to your cobaincase site and express your bloody opinions there, and stop ragging on courtney love (who is musically talentless, this is the only one of her songs i like)

Nobody can scream ‘FUCK YOU’ with the same powerful effect as Courtney. That’s the best part of the song and its perfectly fitting as well. Its already been said - the songs obviously about Frances being taken away from Courtney when the authorities were questioning her capabilities as a mother after the drug abuse accusations etc. so the song encapsulates the rage she felt at that point mixed with the effect of hormones after giving birth. Any girl knows hormones can bring out the worst anger ever but with Courtney it’s a thousand times worse. But at least she created some fuckin amazing music from her rage.

Yeah, Kat B helped write this song. I think SOME of this of written abotu Frances "It's. Not. Your's. FUCK YOU" etc But, as with most of her songs, It's abotu more than one thing. And to go on one of these things and have arguments over whether Courtney Love is a crackwhore or whatever is PATHETIC. Stop being little star-fucker Courtney doppe;gangers and just LISTEN to the MUSIC. Good song. xx

We can notice Kurt's phantom appearing in the whole album :P not only this song but malibu{And the sun goes down I watch you slip away and the sun goes down I walk into the waves and I knew Love would tear you apart Oh and I knew the darkest secret of your heart}, reasons to be beautiful etc...Billy Corgan {from Smashing Pumpkins} participated of the production of the album and we can clearly see his fingers in this song {'I am so dumb Just beam me up I've had it all forever I've had enough' }
