What are you guys? Stupid? This is originally a Nirvana song! Tehre are two version of this song floating around! One is abot 1:30 minuts long which is a live recording and the other one in the box set is about 4:30 minutes long! Nirvana rocks and Courtney's a whore! 1

Kurt at least wrote the music and Courtney probably wrote the lyrics but maybe did it in Kurt's style of writing or perhaps he helped her with them. It doesn't really help to start whining about which person is a better writer anyway because that's not helping the discussion progress, it's just getting it caught up in a bitch fight.

this is a really cool song. it's...amazing. i think it would have been better on 'live through this' than "credit in the straight world",but i dont really know..i like how they used the beginning (and i will await your highness...) in 'credit...' though.

Courtney love has admitted several times that she is a liar, she lies all the time. Only time she isn't lying is in her lyrics. That's why i honestly beleive she hired someone to kill kurt cobain. I'm glad she did it to, or else she wouldnt of been so good. Songs like this are a way for her to admit to her fans that she killed him without going to jail, you know?, she is smart and I LOVE HER !!

I think the music is Nirvana's and the lyrics are Courtney's. Anyway...I think the song is about a woman getting older and becoming bitter and jaded. She's alone, she's ignored, and she is angry, but at the end there seems to be a promise, a glimmer of hope; someday things will get better, even if it's simply through death.

Kurt Cobain had originally wrote this, and gave it to Courtney Love after they married. Nirvana did a version of it, but it was an instrumental with some scratchy background vocals. Then, later, when Hole recorded it, Courtney Love wrote her own lyrics for the music.

smells like girl, the reason you like this song is because its a cover of a nirvana song. Not everyone knows that, though, because courtney won't let the box set come out. she just covers the good ones for herself. (you've got no right, for example) "i don't think i want love"-K.C. "you've got no right"

alright all of you that are having some kinda problem with the nirvana thing heres the story kurt cobain wrote the song first originally for the nevermind cd but didnt get it to be the way he liked it so he gave it to courtney to use for hole and this song is awesome but personally i like the nirvana version better...

this is the same person as smells like girl. courtney is now letting out the box set, pet virus84. and kurt did write part of this song...however, he never actually played or recorded it, i beleive. and, from what i heard, he only wrote part of it. never-the-less, it's an amazing song. my body the hand granade is one of the best albums out there.

first lyrics i have entered at songmeanings.net *claps for self* anyway, this is my favorite hole song. I don't really know how to describe it...but I really adore it. Especially the part that goes: What was she for halloween the ugliest girl you've ever seen someday she will die alone

also i forgot to add my comments i believe in my research that courtney killed kurt which is expressed in the songs... speaking about kurts aggresions and speaking about killing her idols (kurt) and pretending she has no rivals which she is doing a pretty crappy job of... and the part some day she wont have to fake it (the murder) and the ending of im sorry so sorry
