| I think that this song was written by Billy and Courtney about Kurt. I think just about every song on this lbum was about Kurt when you look at it. But I think it was Billy who did a lot of the lyrics. | |

| i agree, i think it's her message to kurt. cause they were both heroin addicts, i think that the 1st + 2nd verse may be about overdosing. "Get well soon, please don't go any higher How are you so burnt when you're barely on fire?" | |

| Yeah, before Love met Cobain she was going out with Billy Corgan, after they broke up it was him who introduced Cobain + Love if I remember rightly | |

| The song is obviously about Kurt. You can tell just by the manner in which she sings it. I still get a tingle hearing "Crash" at the beginning. (Help me please, burn the sorrow from your eyes) Courtney wants to help Kurt through his troubled mind (How are you so burnt when you're barely on fire?) Courtney was and is hated by Nirvana fans, and had to deal with it. Kurt took that burden to heart despite the irrepressible Courtney being able to deal with it. (I can't be near you / The light just radiates) Kurt went into his shell, culminating in his suicide, due to media interested in his music and life. All the focus was on him. | |

| Morgen19, no one introduced them, they saw eachother from across a crowded room and started wrestling on the floor. and why are we talking about cobain anyway. this song isnt about him. get over the thought that every hole, every foo fighters, every fucking any band's song is about cobain. its fucking annoying, not to mention direspectful to the memory of the man. | |

| Courtney has never gotten the credit she deserves. I'm so tired of people like gl0ws in the dark and Mirax. They really need to get over themselves. | |

| Perhaps this song is actually about kurt? i actually like the song. How'd you get so desperate? How'd you stay alive? Help me please, burn the sorrow from your eyes Oh, come on, be alive again Don't lay down and die She may just be talking to kurt | |

| I love the lyrics to this song, it has a really Summery feel to it. It doesn't even sound depressing like a lot of Hole's songs. I'm a big Hole fan and this is one of their best, in my opinion. I can relate to some lines but i'm not sure what the song was written about. I guess you can make up your own meanings, in a way. To me this is about getting away...not just to somewhere hot and sunny like Malibu, but of course, maybe that too. But just getting away from something holding you back. | |
