This song may not be so godmade as I once thought. I used to believe it was just one of those "fun" songs about something evil which is meant to be taken as a joke. However, having bothered to read the lyrics I can see that it is not a "fun" song. The speaker claims to be Existance, and it is uncertain if Existance is actually a being or just a state. I will refer to Existance as He to make it easier to understand. When Existance begins with, "You'll never be born again..." He could be talking about either human life after death, or which I believe is more accurate, human life once you are born. Existance is refering to all humans when He addresses "you". When you are born, you have just entered through the 'gates' of his world. In the beginning we are young, and fear nothing. But as we grow and time marches on, our lives become more difficult, or as some people mentioned above, Hell. In Flames views the quality of human life subsistent, or shitty. Lumping all of human life together would mean we are talking about our society. We preform laborious jobs our entire lives to hold our place in society. Over time we would feel the weight of time on our shoulders as we worked our lives away... just ask any factory worker. So depression clouds your soul as time slowy hacks away your life. Now here is a very difficult concept to understand. When time takes your life, you die! Existance will take your soul and put you in an afterlife world where you can think about whatever you did during your life for the rest of eterinty. This afterworld seems to be bleak, perhaps they are making fun of Heaven, which would mean that the entire song is making fun of religion and Existance is God. If not then it is their own interpretation of what is to come after human death. Either way, NOTHING CAN HELP YOU NOW!

THIS SONG IS SO FRIKKIN AWESOME! Especially the first verse. He really says it like he means it, as opposed to most other singers. The part with the whispering is also very dramatic. Such a brutal and passionate song.
