	Well in the bible Goliath was a big evil giant, and david was a small man with a slingshot. David, with help from god won the great fight between the two. Very inspirational really. The small overcoming the great. I beg to differ with everyones interpretation so far. the music of this song is too glorious and uplifting for the goliaths, who are doing the disarming to be the bad guy. and as for the lyrics: In Flames, in this modern metaphysical piece invert the attention. I think that it is unquestionable that this song tackles religion. firstly, it's implied by the title. Goliaths disarm their davids. Secondly, the very first line seems to critisize the work religion does in a society thirdly, the protagonist of this poem is collecting the words of Fallen Goliathsin his quest to Disarm "this psychotic chaos". WHY? Well, the beauty of David vs. Goliath is howsomeone so small can challenge something so big. But in reflection, what is bigger? The Desciple of God, or the opposer of religion? In this piece, Goliath is romanticised. or the goliaths. the giants, who the protagonist gathers his information, or code, from. the giant is suitable as an image. this song romanticises the strong individuals in their struggle against the weaker masses, who are under davids "bible arm", his catapult, that "spins it's downward spiral." "The Code" is the information, gathered from the atheists struck down by the masses ("the graves of giants") and the protagonist is searching for informatin sufficient enough to take away the persuasive power the religious authorities have that leads to the problems brought up in the first verse. Another thing which convinces me that the singer is on goliaths side is the last line of that verse. "Strong objects track my body, My body down" david killed goliath with a catapult. goliath (i think) was unarmed.so if the posotive character(s) of the poem are the Davids, then this poem is writen from the point of view of The negative character(s), Goliath, which is completely inconsistant with the rest of the song. by the way, i hope that i've made everyone who thought that the goliaths were the bad guys in this song feel really stupid now, or else that their able to back their points up with sufficient refrence to the song. i had to through that in their. i just couldn't help highlight that i'm disarming the other interpretations. 1

	Dreadnought is right about the 80% of all in flames songlyrics.... so true... but they do make good points within those 80% the human race DOES suck, we DO need to reroute to remain... as for the meaning of this song per se, thematically it rather follows that trend, and i agree with TheRedJester it's about our corperate society ruled by money...the Goliaths controlling everything unfairly. In Flames = Socialists. and oh how i wish i wasn't from the US... dreams of sweden anyway, that's my input...

	The biblical metaphors really confuse up this song.. I'm not whether this song is anti-christian or if that's just some kind of metaphor for something. Overall, I'd have to say this song is about religion corrupting the "organism", as the text says. Kind of stupid actually..

	I don't think it's all about how the human race sucks, but what we do, and what we distort, which ends up making everything a lot worse. In Flames is a good band. This song, from what I take, is about large powerful figures of authority bend the weaker to their will.

	in flames have never come across as anti-christian, or any religion dont misinterpret them like that, its not their intention. they just write about a lot of touchy and emo things 80% of all in flames lyrics after behind space come down to this: "the human race sucks, we need to reroute to remain"

	This song not only sounds a lot like Jotun, it's a similiar theme also. In fact, most of TJR/Whoracle-era In Flames has the same theme (Whoracle less so, but theres a lot of it on there). Graveland sums the theme up best with "Burn the visionaire / Kill the ideologies / Mankind must die".

	Like most In Flames songs... while extremely poetic, the lyrics can sometimes be confusing. Although I have never actually read the story of David and Goliath, the main story of it is that the weaker man, David, ended up slaying the huge, strong man, Goliath. Judging by the title of the song, and the last few lines, to me this song is talking about today's world being run by the most powerful. Such as the United States being the bully of the world, and large corporations and CEO's as the goliaths. There is no room for the Davids, the weaker ones, to make a stand.
