	This song is about suicide. And depression. "I fear there's a way out" I think its about depression because the lyrics sounds like he restricts himself. And the fact he asks if he is just different. "Self control- forcing me down" "Is anybody out there like me?" I'm surprised there are not any comments on this song. I think it is a pretty good song.

	@ac666 i saw the video as well and i have to admit that i was really confused... On the one hand there are the deep and intense lyrics and on the other hand there is this video that reminds me of every fucking hip-hop video. Maybe it's a persiflage on the superficial hip-hop culture?! anyone got an idea?

	Seems to me like this song goes on with what "Dead Alone" started. But in this song it's not about the "dark side" as a part you need to be yourself: It's about the fear to get out of it. What will you have when you lose this thoughts?

	I own EVERY in flames and metallica album, and I must say that none of it sucks nor did they sell out, each album is slightly different and just listen to it and enjoy it for what it is , other than sitting around complaining about how the band didn't write music just for you.

	i think it definatly has something to do with suicide, but it might have something to do with a girl, from the line above her, im endless and in flames never sold out, just like metallica didnt, you people suck, if you dont like the band stop listening to them, they dont play music for you alone

	I saw these guys play live in toronto a few months back. Anders introduced the song by describing what it's like to fall into a giant glass of red wine. I think that proves the song has something to do with alcohol, or drug abuse. It seems to me to be about wanting to drink or use, but wanting to stop at the same time.

	He is fragile- wine makes him feel on top of the world and at the same time gives him fear and depression. also, he thinks with his other he feels endless. He does not have energy to stop his addiction and the "quicksand" affects him again and relieves his struggle in the day. in the beginning of the songs, i think he has reached a high mental state and displaced from the usual people- he should be on top of the world. 1 2 Next

	i spent a lot of time listeninw to this osng...one of my favorites on the cd...i kinda just went through and interpreted all the lyrics individualy:: tell me wat u tihnk:: Reaching depths of clarity (possibly begining to realize things arent as they should be) I'm not supposed to be like this (self explanitory) I should be on the top of the world Is anybode out there like me? (perhaps realizing that instead of being happy because he has everything, he still feels like an odd hole...like somthin missing) I followed - something's missing Self control - forcing me down Whispers consume the air Above her I'm endless (i kinda read this whole part together, apparently some significant other is involved with this poart of the song and i figured that may have something to do with how he should be happy) When the rain comes falling I'll freeze, I'm so afraid When things start to flood me I'll drown in seconds (this part i can relate to alot...hows this...once things start happening, u get flustered, like almost lost in everything thats happining, whether it involves you or not.) 	I agree with most of what\'s already been said...The main thing I get from this song is that he is involved in something that he doesnt want to be(addictions, relationship, whatever) but at the same time he doesnt want to get out of it. I got that from the chorus :\"Fear-There\'s a way out\"(He can get out), and \"I fear there\'s a way out\" (He\'s afraid he can get out because he doesnt want to)

	Before this song I had no idea who In Flames were, now I listen to them all the time., but this song is so amazing I love the chrous, i can relate to this song alot. In Flames rock.. =)
