Dirk uses his nifty 5-string Warwick for recordings, but I'm
pretty sure he doesn't hit anything lower than D (good for
those of us lacking a B sting).

| This is about the feeling when people put you down, but they don't know how hard it is to be somebody else. | |

| Maybe we should try walking in his shoes and balancing on the beam to understand what this song really means. | |

| This song is underrated. I didn't really like it at first, but when I really listened to it I couldn't get enough of it. Nirvana, Incubus, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers are the only bands to do that to me. | |

| I think this song is about how friends can sometimes get so close that they don't realize when they're stepping on each others toes. Brandon suggests that instead of taking the easy way out and quitting the friendship, that you just step in you're friends shoes and realize what you're putting him/her through. Sometimes even the best of friends can get their feelings hurt when they are told the truth from another one of their friends. The truth usually hurts, but you probably think they are being malicious on purpose and think they're walking with "razorblades for boots" because they are cutting away you're self esteem and it is easy to do the same back, but it probably hurts you friend to tell you the truth hence "they'll never be as soft as they seem". Take their place and realize how fortunate you are to have such a good friend and not let something little ruin a great friendship. | |
