Disengaging and escaping into luminous haze for the creation of an otherwise intangible vision, like a spiritual journey. Entering a world without boundaries, no rules, no regulations, left completely to your imagination. Sexual demons in my sleep...wait...what?

I don't really understand what this song means...but i like it alot. I saw Incubus a few weeks ago, and they were awesome, of course.

To me it's sort of about formulating a song or a story or something. To wander off into your place of creative thought, and just go nuts. I think the little black book may be where you record what you write.

Wandering off into the nebula represents meditation, or spiritual exploration. Just letting go and then bringing back the thoughts you've gathered and using them to create art. Or maybe you're tripping on acid and that's the nebula. Actually, considering some of Incubus's earlier songs, I did always think this one meant allowing people, specifically artists, to use drugs as a way of going into one's subconcious and using it for creative energy...most likely what the band members did in early songwriting sessions. Did they make up the word "orgasmatron"? And the little black book he confides in...well...I'm not sure quite what to make of that. I didn't like this song too much the first few times I listened to it. Now it's one of my favorites. Mike Einziger is my hero.

personally seeing as he is referring to society in the song, i am assuming that the black book is referring to the general way of doing things, (guidelines, rules etc...) so he is asking little black book should i confide? or should i do it my own way? i think any artists aim is for the audience to gain their own meaning from the song, however, i do believe that there is a point being made by incubus, and that is "to wander off into your nebula" that could mean a number of things, a high, a high-er state of consciousness, a trance like state of mind.... anywhere that is above your normal state, and while your there, cease that moment where the thoughts start rushing in........ (pick your prize)

I don't know why...but I think that little black book is a bible reference. And I think it's actually not about drugs this time. I think it's about letting him explore himself and the world around him and letting him be what he wants to be.

Well to mee some of it seems a bit like sex. his "little black book" is well, all his ex's. and then this bit.. "Wander off into your nebula, see your nectarine of multiplicity cum like orgasmatron on overdrive!" OK i don;t know about the nebula bit, maybe it's an ultime high. But your nectarine of multiplicity (a woman's vagina maybe, she can multiply with it) cum like orgasmatron..on overdrive (she's having an orgasm) "Disconnect and let me drift, until my upside down is right side in. Society must let the artist go, to wander off into the nebula." Until my upside down is right side in, I don't know but that could seem like a reference to sex. But to me its this, he's writing a song, to write a song you have to let yourself go and write about re-life things, that have happened on his "voyage of discovery" through life. This couplet is strange though "Wander in off to your nebula, your tangerine of electricity is ripe and on a vine, so pick your prize!" I think that means that you should explore now and you have a lot to learn and your young and full of energy (tangerine of electricity is ripe and on a vine, you're wired and ready) to discover new things, so take the oppotunity (pick your prize). The little black book is maybe a reference to where he writes his songs down in? "Upon return, I conjure what was seen. I let it pulse and boil within my limbs. I lay my pencil to the porous page, and let my lunatic indulge itself. " - When he's back from his voyage of discovery he recounts what he's seen and writes it down, and creates a song. Let's go...

this song is so kick ass, who cares what its about. just the fact that brandon can do something like that with his voice is freaking amazing. i mean, it shows a side of incubus that they have an excellent range across genres. they couldve became rap stars with this song. no im kidding, but almost.

I believe it's about going off and doing your own thing. He is talking about his songwriting, and how other people don't have to understand what he means, but they have to respect him for it.
