| Hello, This song is definately about war and the government. "I'm trying to focus, but my eyes decieve me. Focus .I'm witnessing history repeating" He's trying to focus on what's going on in America right now, it's so bad that it's like his vision is blurred. Supposedly the "Land of the Free" more like the land full of oil-guzzling pigs. That's why I want outta this place. The history repeating part, it's kind of obvious, war. | |

| To me it sounds like God's talking about mankind having gone wrong. I'm not even the religious type but the lines just seem to say that it's about the world going wrong. "I heard a word from on high / Clear like a light in the sky / It said, "Quit blowing each other up"" Essenitally he's in a peaceful state of mind and this powerful voice is telling him that people shouldn't be at war. "The voice seemed so crystally clear / Some things are clean in your ear / When only blood fills your cup" saying that the voice is ethereal, transcendent. "Hello / I'm trying to focus, but my eyes decieve me / Focus / I'm witnessing history repeating" it's sort of a tongue-in-cheek message from God. He's watching world history repeat, outside time. "We are, we know, we see, we think for you / The who, the what, the when, the where, the why / We build your hill, we build you too, we see you" means we made you, stop fighting. I don't think Brandon believes in God as such, I read he has a more spiritual belief in "the feminine energy" inside of him but I think this is what it soubded like when I tried to listen to the words. | |

| This song has my favourite lyrics of all time: "a scene set to singe innocence, upheave, unhinge and pit against, like every made-for-tv movie should" - Genious! I love every bit of it, the kind of lazy verses with a more in your face chorus. Also the time change at the end where he's like yelling in tune..oh its just too good! Its definately a wars theme. And also a little correction, its "we build your young" not hill? | |

| Kind of obvious, isn't it? Anti-war, all the way. I needn't say a thing, the lyrics speak for themselves. | |

| Dear adamBFOW! I think that it has NOTHING to do with 9.11... Honestly... Some Americans (and I really emphasize SOME) are so full of themselves...okay, Pearl Harbour and 9.11, yes, i know those were hard periods in the life of the USA, but for God's sake, that is NOTHING compared to what happened in some other countries throughout history...Try to learn more about the world and history...and this song is especially for you, adamBFOW, someone who is so driven by the media and can't think for himself. 911 was really unexpected and painful, but it wasn't the shock of my life! The media made it so big, but when there are thousands dying in Africa each day for example, because they have nothing to eat, then this is just nonsense... You have everything you want and everything you need, you don't even understand what's going on in the world, what's it like to not eat for days...and this is just one example. Wake up, you're not the only country on earth, and not the only one that has to go through difficult things! And retaliation is exactly what the song is about, that people should never be driven by aggression. It will never get you anywhere. 1 2 Next | |
