**A Grand Scene Average |

| For me, this song identifies the possibilities to connect with a soul mate in other realms...finally meeting the energy of this person in a subconscious dream state or meditation, "Met my match today"...and following the synchronized events to meeting that person in waking state (conscious). The frustration in this song is also relative in a song I connected to by Bjork titled, "I miss you, but I haven't met you yet." It is very frustrating to find someone you know you love in another realm...when you wish you could meet them here. Perhaps he was talking about meeting his lover and knowing she could be younger than he is...or *maybe older in a sense*...and worried about his insecurities of an older human-aged body. He knows insecurities are useless to have...and that coincidence is not the answer to his unexplained, synchronized events that are bringing the acknowledgement of this person/existence. In high school, many of us realize we can love other people in intimate ways...it's very exciting and new...a beginning to understand your heart chakra....and I believe this excitement only blossoms when we connect with those that are our soulmates. Although, it is possible to have more than one soulmate, we can feel each one of them depending on our karma with them and our educated consciousness. I also like his song, "Echo." I believe some interesting lyrics from that song are related to this one somehow. lovlyt15@hotmail.com - kari | |

| i think the highschool reference could mean that we never forget our highschool loves and crushes. The 'match' referred to could be that special someone from highschool herself, reunited or reintroduced into his life, since he couldnt get to know her in high school because of insecurities. And their meeting again was no coincidence either. | |

| "Met my match today" is like there's this girl that's like a hard catch so to speak and, well, he wants her bad. The high school part is like frustration. | |

| I haven't seen this interpretation so I'll venture out with my own. I see it as him running into someone from high school that he maybe had a small thing with or maybe a crush that never amounted to anything. "Met my match today Felt the blood rushing and mingling A curious and enigmatic thing" i see it as when they first meet again, and he is suprised with how he still feels even though it was all the way back in high school. "This isn't coincidence There's no such thing" as in he thinks they met again for a reason (fate). My thoughts. | |

| It's about when you're in love you can act so ridiculous and childish no matter what your age is: "Never act my age You can tell by the lines in my smile That I have been around for a while" It's reminescent of high school days ("I understand why they say high school never ends") with the whole "i like you do you like me" bullshit. | |

| This & "beware! criminal" are my two personal faves of ACLOTM. I think the song is just about how when he meets this girl she makes him act like he used to in high school. | |

| he doesnt mean he met his match like his competetion, he means it like his partner. like you have to matching socks... so hes not talking about a girl being hard to get. his match like his soul mate. when he says "This isn't coincidence, There's no such thing" hes saying what its fate, not sheer chance. the high school reference is just how when youre young and fall in love, you really feel like you get butterflies in your stomach, but as you get older that feeling vanishes, but now hes feeling that feeling again even though hes a lot older. | |
