"Say Hello To The Angels"
Tuning: Dropped D
Tabbed by: f4hking (fahking11@hotmail.com)
Notes: This is based on mrbungle_mp_@hotmail.com's bass tab.
I made a few corrections and fixed it up a bit.
Carlos plays this song a lot different live, but this
is as close as I can get it to the studio version.

| this song reminds me of a boy i used to love, especially all of the opening verse. i think the song is talking about meeting someone that suddenly makes you stop feeling jaded. 'say hello to the angels' is what that feeling is, described in words. this song is a thing of immense beauty, just like the album from which it comes. | |

| this is my favorite song ever. i listen to it so much, and only just realized how sexual it is. cool. anyway, i thought it was just about being in love and wanting someone really badly. | |

| Often poets and writers in bygone eras would use "die" and "death" as a euphemism for orgasm, mainly to get their works past censors of the day. I'm pretty sure Shakespeare used it a time or two. While that same censorship isn't around today, "Say Hello To The Angels" could be a subtle metaphor for sex/orgasm, not for a literal death or murder. Just a thought. | |

| As I reread the lyrics I see a lot that I missed, mostly more ennuendo and masturbation evidence. | |

| of course none of this is in a literal sense. i think it's sad. "I bury my love around you. You're linked to my innocence." i believe it is speaking of the person his virginity was lost too, and the word love always relates back to them. "When I’m feeling lazy, it's probably because I’m saving all my energy to pick up when you Move into my airspace Move into my airspace Something’s coming over me I see you in the doorway." everytime she comes near, these feelings return, someone he'll never get over. maybe being lazy is he doesnt care to put effort into anyone else, but when she returns, thats all he cares to put effort into. and of course there is the sexual side of the song, which is obvious. eitherway, i think the song is wonderful. | |
