| he's talking about how he's tired of jetsetting around--references to traveling with the vessel and flying the metal (airplane?) and getting "paid" bc "these are just ways to be seen". he wants to reach "abandon" and lose himself with this girl so that when he/they look back on "history" she'll see that he treated her right--that's the only way he'd ever treat her..so yeah, he's basically saying fuck it all and "swoon baby starry nights, may our bodies remain"--maybe i'm looking too deep into it but bodies could represent celestial bodies; may they remain burning brightly in the starry sky, not having to travel around and prove themselves bc everyone can see them from earth. | |

| I think when sweet_adeline called Paul Ian they were making a joke about how Interpol supposedly sound just like Joy Division and people say Paul's voice sounds like Ian Curtis'. I love this song. It is one of my favourites off the new album. I don't get the title though... | |

| I will have to think about this song for a long time while really fucked up to completely understand, but for now I just want to say that the following verse is genius: we all get paid some get faith before they die then through stars we will navigate through the holes in your eyes He summed up life, love, and death in those simple phrases. | |

| i wish people would stop with the jd/interpol shit. just... shut up. (but i do have to say that not all songs need to have some immediate, obvious meaning. interpol certainly doesn't do that and that's what i like.) anyway, in something completely related to the purpose of this site, i feel that the girl is pulling away and the guy just wants to her stay (There is love to be made / so just stay here for this while). i would've liked it if the lyrics were 'how many days will it take to mend? / how many ways to reach your hand?' because that makes more sense, somehow. have you guys heard the carlos d remix? i love it. | |

| all i can think about is a love i lost ( or never told him because our friendship was the best without love ) .. when we would sit and watch the stars. it was magical and it has nothing to do with the song so il stfu. maybe it does.. "may our bodies remain" in those nights where we sat under the starry nights 1 2 Next | |
