Song: Losing His Touch
Band: Jack Off Jill
Album: Clear Hearts, Grey Flowers
Author: twiggles(wpngscrs@hotpop.com)
This song was done with a five string, but you can play it with a four
string in drop D(minus the bridge, which is why I tabbed it in five
string). I'm sure this song is off a little(especially the opening
chord, I can't really make it out). Please e-mail me corrections.

| All right, I'm convinced you're all too young to have ever heard the original of this song on the radio, but no mind. If you compare the second verse of the original to the JOJ version, you will find an EXTREMELY different meaning, which I think is why JOJ decided to cover it. Original lyrics: I close my eyes and see you before me Think I would die if you were to ignore me A fool could see just how much I adore you I get down on my knees and do anything for you JOJ lyrics: You close your eyes and see me before you Think you would die if I were to ignore you A fool could see just how much you adore me Get down on your knees and do anything for me Get it? No woman should be so spineless as to make the one she wants the entire focus of everything. Lust is great, but if the one you lust after isn't just as obsessed as you are, you're one of those women who's going to end up abused. Back when this song was regularly on the radio in its original version, I always hated it because the female speaker obviously had little self-esteem. However, I LOVE the slightly revamped version by JOJ because it changes the female role to one of the worshipped goddess rather than victim. ALL OF YOU! NEVER LET ANY BOY TREAT YOU AS ANYTHING LESS THAN A GODDESS. YOU ARE WORTH IT! IF HE DOESN'T BEG AND SCRAPE, HE DOESN'T DESERVE YOU!! My two cents. | |

| I think it's more than just about Christianity. It could also be about people that others idolize so much to make them look like Gods. | |

| You are correct. Jack off Jill never did this cover And they didn’t to Barbie/ugly girl song And they didn’t do a song with korn. [thank god] The only songs they did that weren’t their own was a cover of the cure’s Lovesong [chgf] And a cover of tom petty - American girl [b side and preformed live only] | |

| Perhaps someone she loves is christian. Perhaps she is mocking christianity and bible beaters. I love Jessicka and I think this song may mean a lot to her. | |

| I love their sound. Its so rough and raw. Its beautifully un-melodic, and addictive her songs have a great structure. This song speaks to me. And its not like "yeah i liked a guy once" or "yeah i hate god too" its more of a total loss of faith, to the point of insanity. Its becoming a total slave and breaking free. Its beautiful but impure in alot of ways. It still has a huge effect on you, and everything you do gets caught up in lustful thoughts of your intoxicating hatred and rebellion. Its no reason to dress up in black and start screaming and crying, hating "God" and hurting yourself like alot of people would think. Thats so common. I love it. Jessicka is so beautifully disturbed. | |

| THIS IS NOT JOJ!! NOT JACK OFF JILL THIS IS NOT JACK OFF JILL. Now that is out of the way.. This is Genitorturers; from the album "Machine Love" I own it, and have seen them perform it in concert. This is a rather, now famous, case of mistaken identity. A limewire user mistakenly labeled the song JOJ and all the JOJ fans snatched it up thinking that they missed a song by their favorite, now dismissed, band. So it spread.....and since Genitorturers is relatively underground no one protested. Sorry but this is not JOJ. | |

| LadyInsane, for a second I read that as "My applesauce," and I giggled for like three minutes. ...Umm, yes. This song makes me giddy with girlish glee. Whenever things are shitty I can listen to this song and be all,"RAWR! /I/ control how shit goes in my life! I AM THE ALMIGHTY CONTROLLER OF MY SHIT! YAY!" etc. etc I also used to listen to this in the car through my blaring headphones as my parents would drag me off to church and feel like such a little badass. xP Good times. | |

| I think it is mocking Christianity. 'Course, it could also be about a relationship where she viewed him as God and he was just a pathetic loser not worthy of diefying (I can certainly relate). It works both ways, really. | |

| No, no this song IS by Jack off Jill... just coz it doesn't sound like the rest of their stuff... jeez. And well since I'm asked 'what does this song mean to you'... it's pretty obvious: masturbation and an exclusive relationship where the main person is EXTREMELY sure about his/her 'sexiness'. | |
