| This song is really emotional. I THINK... That it's about two people who at one time were friends, had a chaotic relationship, one or both of them got hurt... Neither wanted to let it go. So they were "weekend lovers" for a while despite being in relationships, but it wasn't fair to either one of them. He realizes they can't be friends or mess around- They need to let go and reach out for something else, but they don't really want to. They're prolonging their pain by hanging onto something that's gone. | |
