| BTW - Lyrically I think this is a work of art. Brown leather captures the fashion at the time (try watching 'Life on Mars' Wormwood Scrubs - classic London prison ('Scrubs). The lyrics after "It blended in with the weather" I have only just found out and this has impressed me even more than the words I already knew. An absolute classic - probably one of the most definings songs of 70s London. " | |

| I still know the words to this song after 25 years. But then I know the words to most jam songs, they're great and Paul Weller is a genius | |

| This and Mr. Clean are definitely their best songs. I love how this song just goes on and on forever but never gets tedious, Weller just gets more and more passionate as it goes on. It's also one of the most brilliantly descriptive songs I've ever heard. I can picture the station and the beating and every event perfectly. | |

| Yeah, the lyrics are fairly self-explanatory: guy gets beat up in a tube-station by guys who wil lsoon go after his wife. Its a pretty unsetteling song. I didn't actually know what the lyrics were about (besides tube stations in general) because theyre so fast and british that theyre pretty hard to discern. Therefore, i was pretty shocked when i finally figured out what it was about. | |

| Tony Blackburn refused to give it air play on Radio 1 in the UK because he felt it was too violent to be heard by young impressionable people. Twat! | |
