Surely it's about class divisions and the "Old Boys' circuit"? How he feels his opportunities are taken by those with a "tie and a crest"? 1

I definately think you're right Mojo Working. He realised they're not weak physically, but also that he's no match for the power that comes with being elite. 1

I don't remember exactly, but I sorta recall this song being about gang violence / labour disputes in Eton. I really don't remember well enough, though.

This was the song that really got me into the Jam. I think it's about people who like to sit around in pubs discussing revolution but then run off home for their tea when the action starts.
