No One's Leaving
Jane's Addiction
Ritual de lo Habitual
Tabbed By Larry Balzary
This tab may be a little hard to understand for those ppl who're kinda' beggining on
tab reading and stuff like that. Or maybe it's just I suck as a tabber, but anyway,
I'll try to explain as best as I can :)
x ==> Palm Mute (hard to explain--- when you play the string, but without playing a note.
Just like "playing around" with the string, giving it a small hit that sounds dry and
hard)
P ==> Pop (Slap)(Have you ever seen the way Flea plays the verse on Aeroplane? Slap (pop)
is like grabing the string, get it tense, then release, so the string will have a funky
sound)
T ==> Thumb Tap (easier: play the string with a thumb hit. it's normally mixed with the
Pop)
* INTRO & VERSE
G:|--------------------|---------------|---------------|----------6-|
D:|----------4--2------|----------4--2-|----------4--2-|------------|:
A:|---4-2--------------|---4-2---------|---4-2---------|-4-2--------|:
E:|-x------x2-----x2-2-|-x------x2-----|-x------x2-----|------------|
P P TP P P P TP P P P TP P P P P
That is the base for the verse. It has some e-c-2-catch variations, specially on the
last block, so you can play around... but NOT MUCH!
* CHORUS (after "let's go...")
This is played very fast
G:|-----------------------------|-----------------------------|
D:|-7--7-7--7-7--7-7--7-5-5-5-5-|-7--7-7--7-7--7-7--7-5-5-5-5-|
A:|-----------------------------|-----------------------------|
E:|-----------------------------|-----------------------------|
G:|-5--5-5--5-5---7-7-7-7-7-7-|-9--9-9--9-9--9-9--9-7-7-7-7-|
D:|---------------------------|-----------------------------|
A:|---------------------------|-----------------------------|
E:|---------------------------|-----------------------------|
G:|-9--9-9--9-9--9-9--9-7-7-7-7-|-12-12-12-12-12--11-11-11-11-11-|----|
D:|-----------------------------|--------------------------------|----|
A:|-----------------------------|--------------------------------|-0^-|
E:|-----------------------------|--------------------------------|-0^-|
* POST CHORUS ("... is leaving")
G:|-----------|--------|
D:|-/4^--2^---|--2/6^--|
A:|-----------|--------|
E:|-----------|--------|
Then back to Verse.
During guitar solo, play verse
* SILENT PART ("that's right")
This is the part after the guitar solo, when there's a silence and the bass plays one
string:
G:|-------2^---|
D:|------------|
A:|------------|
E:|--2-2-------|
P
Not too hard, uh?
* FINAL VERSE
G:|----------------|
D:|----------4---4-|:
A:|----------------|:
E:|-0-2--2-3---2---|
P P
* FINAL STOP ("and i wish we all waved")
G:|------|------|------|
D:|------|---4^-|---4^-|
A:|------|------|------|
E:|-2-2--|-2----|-2----|
P P
I think that's all...
