| Much of the Stand Up album is about Ian resenting the constant travel and work-load of being a rock star. This song talks about how he's constantly away from his new girlfriend (and future ex-wife), Jeanine. "It was a new day yesterday but it's an old day now" It was kind of thrilling not knowing when or how long the two would see each other, but now it's growing old and Ian just wants to be with his new love. "Oh I had to leave today just when I thought I'd found you" Even when the two are together, it's an all-too-brief moment as Ian has to go back on the road again. 1 | |

| THANX SO MUCH 4 ADDING 2 HIS GENIUS W/YR STUPID I/NET SLANG!!!!! HAFORLLOL! Anyway, on a serious note... I don't know the history behind this song, but it just seems to me about recounting memories. Perhaps of Glory. This might be an anthemic attempt at uplifting England. This band always had diamonds in their eyes...Especially in their youth. | |
