| I kinda agree with the addiction part of the song. I really think that this song is about helping someone through addiction when it doesn't seem even that person wants help, but this person can't just sit a and "just watch the fireworks" which to me is metaphorical of energy and excitement of the addicted persons life. almost like hes expected to just sit there and watch his friend to go through this by themselves but he can't just watch the fireworks. | |

| tonight as i kinda helped my friend through a bit of a crisis i thought of this song so i just kinda thought about how before i thought the meaning was more about addiction and while it could be, i think it is also basically just being a good friend and making sure a friend whom needs your help knows they can count on you. | |

| when it says: "Here you can be anything. Anything that scares you. I think that scares you." does it mean that the fact that this person has the ability to be anything scares them? or they can be anything that scares them? kinda confusing for me | |

| Im thinking he wants her to join him in watching the fireworks, but being deeper than that. He wants to be in a relationship, and he has been in that state where you are feeling empty, like the center frame which had a picture of a happy relationship. The narrator wants to help her out, and see the fireworks with her. He told her his feelings about how her relationship has been going, over and over saying how things do not look hopeful, but he wont rest until he hears her approval to go watch the fireworks. 1 2 3 4 5 Next | |

| Obviously, I am kind of partial to this song... As with most j.e.w. songs, I think this is really open for personal interpretation. I always saw it as opening and up and sharing yourself, even though it might be kind of scary. The great thing about songs is that you can find your own meaning in them. That's why everyone can relate to music. | |

| i dunno, to me i always sorta took it literal because it applied to me more that way, like, a guy showing the girl he loves something that he's sort of kept to himself, and now he wants to share it with her. "i've been here before, but only by myself" is like, it's something he's never shown anyone, it could be something like an object or scene, i.e. fireworks, or it could be something about himself. | |

| Stealth, Something Corporate is kind of like JEW. More piano and less rock-ness, but they are obviously influenced by JEW because they talk about "for me this is heaven" in their song Konstantine. Also check out Junction 18, american football, Get Well Soon ("my falling star wish" is an amazing song...search for them on mp3.com) Sense Field, Saves the Day, The Starting Line. Yes yes | |

| livetheemolife I totally agree with you. I feel thsi way everytime I'm with a girl. I tell them how I feel and then feel rejected when they give that "...that's nice" face. Make sure the person feels the EXACT same way you do before telling them anything. | |

| honestyormystery, I think it's the fact that they can be anything, and that scares them. This song could mean anything. Admitting an addiction, saying "Even if I've done it before, I'll do it again with you." This song rocks =) | |
