This time it's on my own.
Minutes from somewhere else.
Somewhere I made a wish.
With Lucky Denver Mint.
You're not bigger than this, not better. Why can't you learn.
Hurry go on ahead.
Good things won't let you wait.
I'll catch up when we get home.
At home I'll leave. A dollar under water keeps on dreaming for me.

| have you ever seen someone go from 'down to earth' to 'holier than thou', and you just want to say "you're no bigger than this, no better why can't you learn"? Jim Adkins has. | |

| I just found out about JEW a few months ago because of Bleed American, but Clarity blew me away. Every song on the album if fantastic and full of meaning... But anyways probably my favorite is Lucky Denver Mint. I’ve thought of it as a "letting go" song. A guy is at an airport or train station or wherever (it doesn’t really matter), and he has thrown a silver dollar ("Lucky Denver Mint") in a fountain wishing the girl he said goodbye to could have stayed. But he keeps telling himself "you're not bigger than this, not better than this. Why cant you learn?" because he knows that the reason she left is "for the best" and he’s trying to be strong. Maybe she left to start her life at a new college or job... or to be with someone that needed her...or to just move on. Whatever the reason was, he’s going back home alone this time, minutes from somewhere else (her - if he just left her at an airport or train station this would make more sense). "A dollar under water keeps on dreaming for me" shows that even though he’s telling himself her reason for leaving is bigger than their relationship, the silver dollar will always be in the back of his mind, dreaming of her. Well...whatever it means it’s a great song. 1 2 3 Next | |

| This song is clearly one of the best JEW songs ever. It kinda touches home because I live close to the Denver Mint, and even though it's not alluding to the Denver Mint, more something more intellectual, I still like the song ^_^. Very good listening. | |
