Possibly the most banal lyrics ever - what the **** does that really mean? Video clips are no substitute for art, which unfortunately seem to be lacking in this instance. Citing influences such as Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed and The Who does not actually bestow any artistic integrity. Sorry fellahs. A random word generator can produce lyrics of a better caliber - Lorem Ipsum has teachings higher than these. lipsum.com Soccer phenomenon.

this song is sooo friggin awesome, especially the jagz kooner remix, its fucking great! but the lyrics are wrong on here. heres the real lyrics Too much information well i said you're good for nothing Call her to the back i said your needless count for something Guess I'd better tell you now Guess I'd better obey you lord Singing for your questions but you've stolen all my answers Too much entertainment drunk my nights out on the corner Tell me that you have seen a ghost I tell you one to fear the most Stop I say it's happening again Were all wasting away Were all wasting away Too much information well i said you're good for nothing I stitch upon a counter fit i'll send you out for hunting Digging at the roads where you digging for the simple code Swimming with the fishes where the serpent leaves his tongue With a belly full of splinters now you see that I'm the one Tell me that you have seen a ghost I'll tell you what to fear the most Stop I say it's happening again Were all wasting away Were all wasting away

I thought this was song meanings, its not a review sight, i think this song is based on the poem Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen The poem is about the 1st world war as Kasabians video for empire is a war. It is a great song!

i did that poem for an exam and i can understand the connection i however don't think it's about war itself more life and possibly a situation with a girl and using war as the theme in the video was more symbolic than literal fucking amazing song whatever

it is a class act, the whole album is, Kasabian have proved their worth, which is something mega if you keep in mind they made galactic tunes such as club foot, LSF and reason for treason. The video is awesome, i think its the crimean war (but not sure), it brings out the 'gang' aspect of what a good band is all about. Proper inspiring.

i think this song puts the band in a hypothetical situation (aka the crimean war) to explain that dying for your country isn't always the right thing to do, and they use the poetic latin phrase in the end sarcastcally, to address that matter.

I am commenting in particular on the video.. which is an excellent companion to this song. It shows the scene of trench warfare with 2 classes of people, the boy sent to deliver a message to the troops and subsequently dying, and the commander, sitting at a posh table ordering everyone about in the lower ranks. The singer watches the boy die, unnecesserily, and this provokes some anger in him to disobey his orders. It shows scenes of the high class commander eating luxury food and sending more young soldiers to deliver a message throught the battlefield. He salutes evey single one of them, as if they are doing some noble mission, when all they are doing is dying out of the laziness of the officer, their life making no huge contribution to the patriotic war. Kasabian continue to march towards the officers, through the raging battlefield and then finally the singer finds himself face to face with the commanders men. He realises he will be shot, and continues to sing '"stop...we're all wasting away".. whilst saluting the man who shoots him dead for disobeying his orders. The end quote in relation to the poem by Owen sums up the message of the song, that dying for your country isn't always so patriotic or amazing.
