| I don't think this song is about rape, though that is what a lot of people I've talked to seem to think. I think this is more about a girl who allows herself to be used, repetedly by people that she has no feelings for. There are also self-injury undertones in the song as well "watch the blood run down her arms". This is about a person who doesn't believe she's a person, as evidenced by the line "She's just a paperdoll that's all, just a paper doll." And also doesn't think that she deserves any notice, validation, or attention, the repeating of "but don't take notice" shows that. She doesn't feel like a human being, "Now her soul is dead" And though she doesn't believe that she deserves happiness, she still wants it "Wash away her pain". | |

| Hm...these are good points. At first, I thought this was about the "beauty myth" since "I Dress Her Up She Knocks Me down" could mean that she feels inferior compared to the doll. | |

| paperdoll was written by tanya about a friend of hers, i'm not 100% certain it was all truthful. perhaps parts of it were somewhat of a joke, between them i mean. | |

| This song is about a girl who just lets everybody use her. And that she molds herself into whatever guys want her to be "one size fits all". And how she's being worn out and that everybody can see it "watch the blood run down her face, but don't take notice" and how "she wants you to eat her pain and remains" saying she wants to use her to get rid of her pain until she's nothing. | |

| After reading a few of these posts, Mercedes posted on the official Kittie board that most of them were way off... so who knows? | |
