Tool covered this song, so it may well be about drugs in the good sense

The first thing I want to say is: Why the hell is no one posting on Kyuss songs? They totally kick ass and i like them more than qotsa (John Garcia is a great singer). And now the song: I think it's about those "healers" who say they can heal severe diseases by laying their hands on you.

I was reading a play, "The Crucible", and I thought this song was about people who supposedly "save you" from satan, and evil spirits, etc. I basically agree with OpiumForThePeople on this one.

Yeah I agree with the people that say this is about a healer theory.

Well, since the drugs influences are obvious with Kyuss, it *could * have something to do with a entheogenic plant ayahuasca, known by native Amazonians as "La Purga" - "The Purge" (due to its inducement of nausea and vomiting). Traditional ceremonies are held in which those who eat the plant purge themselves of evil spirits, before being "reborn". Of course, there are many psychotropic plants and substances that are taken in rituals like this (such as peyote), but it's just a thought.
