Could it possibly have something to do with the breakup of the two band members? (Cristina and Marco Coti Zelati.) If I wasn't so lazy, I'd try to pick some lyrics and try to explain how it may be possible. But with the song being so personal, and them describing it as the "distance between two place," maybe they mean that one of them broke the relationship off. And the two places are the two strong, different opinions of the relationship. Maybe one of them made a mistake (ex: "I'm a loser") and the other doesn't want the them anymore. It's just a guess.

The entire way this song is put together i think is absolutely amazing and really shows Lacuna Coil as a talented band. What i get from the lyrics is that that there are things that make them hold themselves back justified with fear and self-loathing. But, even though they feel they can't handle the changes making them confront their fear(s), they have to. This is a song about the feelings that go with fear when you placed infront of a spotlight- you have to appear one way but inside you are terrified and "a loser". I have no doubt this song is ultimately about stagefright.- but the lyrics are beautifully written and very visual. Truely an immortal work from this amazing band!

Funny you should say that I'm just blowing crap. But if that were so, how do you explain this- I am one of the sole owners of the Lacuna Coil demos. This was when the band was based in New Orleans and were called - Anna In Fear. The original title of the demo was actually "Love Songs for the Dying Heart" which intern was the original title of the song "Cold Heritage". You can believe Cristina if you like, but the fact is, it's more appealing to idiots like you to be fake and say you formed in Italy when you've spent a considerable portion of your life writing music in a garage in New Orleans. And have you ever wondered why Cristina sounds so Americanized in her interviews? Don't get me wrong, I know all of these people and Cristina is really from Italy, as are the rest of the current members, but there is a big chunk of Lacuna Coil history that is just skirted over as if it never happened. And if you ever want proof of what I'm telling you, check the records of a New Orleans Club called the Howlin' Wolf. It's one of the few places that Anna In Fear played under that name.
