I think the song is about american family values, and how false ideas about the reality of the state of our world are crammed down our throats from the moment we are born, and as we grow we begin to realize how untrue these statements are and how we aren't living in a happy disney world like we're lead to believe, and this song is about how joey has dealt with that reality vs. what he was brought up to believe.

one of my many fav songs by lagwagon, i think this song is about some guy who is indifferent to everything because all his life it's been bad things happening to him.. =/ im not sure, l8r haha
