| This song kicks so much damn ass its almost sick. Lamb of God kicks so much ass that it might be illegal in some states. I think the song simply states: don't keep your mith shut or you'll end up fooled and left behind. Basically, pay attention to whats going on around you dammit, don't be a cog in the machine, rage against it. | |

| I think it is an attack on the government. He is saying that we are instilled with a sense of fear and reverance, which keeps us silent, but that when we realise, we don't need their favour, the people will rise up. | |

| I kind of doubt this is what the writer intended, but it sounds a lot like a (rather jaded) description of the breaking down and indoctrination of a green recruit during Basic Combat Training. Looking at it in that context the lyrics are pretty self-explanatory. A Drill Instructor.... "I will show you all that I have mastered: . . ." haha. | |

| Your all wrong. ON the Terror And Hubris dvd mark (i think) says that the song is about feeling isolated, and wherever you go its the same isolation. Or something like that. So its pretty much about feeling isolated form the world. It shows that meaning in the video too, theirs a whoole bunch of hispanic people freakin out at the band and one guy rockin out, technically hes different hes not like them so hes pretty much isolated. Thats just my take though. | |

| Everyone has only seen one meaning. A lot of people seem to think all of Lamb of God's songs are about politics, and most are. But most also are sacreligious, and that's what Is fucking awesome about Randy's lyrics. This song is not just about military it is also about Christanity. "The knowelge that seeking the favor of another, means the murder of self," refers to christians looking to jesus to 'save' them from damnation, and the never understand themselfs. The whole chorus is about christianity, saying that it is the "resolution" to not knowing about ourselfs and looking for an answer, but at the same time it ends eacj indivuals progress in life, and is killing evolution because religious people don't rely on themselfs. "It bleeds all life away" fits with this. Second verse, Saying that religious people remain silent because they have "a stream of solice that runs few and narrow" (christ, and there arn't many "martyrs") And "faith" hides people from the fact that the world is not a perfect place and there is torture. And the outro I love. It is speaking though jesus. Saying christianity has mastered placing fear in people, causing pain to people who do not agree, hatred to people who can deal with problems without a "god" to look up to, and the power of CONTROLING the nation. Christianty is false hope and therefor, The art of Ruin. I also agree with the military refrence, but I want people to understand that Randy is talking about both. Don't be afrid to turn the cross over |||| |||| |||| |||| ||||||||| ||||||||| |||| |||| | |

| You know what I cant understand? How somthing so fucking amazing, and talented can get 20 comments. And then you go to taking back sunday or somthing and there is 400 comments on one song. I think that ths song is generally about the state of mankind. We have built ourselves up to suc an extenet that its become ruinouse. its basically saying that we are all fucked because of our advancement which spreads and forms negativity and general rot. | |

| This song isn't about Christianity. Lamb of God are not a preachy band, like Deicide or Dimmu Borgir, they leave it to the individual to make up their own mind about that sort of thing. | |
