	It seems to me that this song is telling the story of some entity trying desperately to hold on to the threads of a crumbling deception, and the toll that this farce is taking on said entity. I've written in explanations where I saw fit, but please fill in the gaps All of this comes crashing down. Cornerstone's gone (The deception is failing because some underlying lie has been exposed/realised) Sleepless. Hopeless. No end in sight (Statement on the difficulties of keeping up such a deception) Ink well has run dry, fill it with blood of the scribe (Running out of ways to lie, so a new scapegoat is found) Rest comes easy to the guiltless (self explanatory) The vampire (the deciever) laments as he prays for the sun (wishes he didn't have to lie) Doom, despair, tragedy are the tools of the trade (Tactics used to uphold the deception) Cut to the bone, rob the grave Unearth the stone, lay to waste Defile the tomb, rip the page Strip mine the vein, lay to waste Frayed at the edge, flat lined (the deception is evidently coming undone). The anvil (the basis of the deception, relating back to the first 2 lines of the song i.e. 'cornerstone') cracks The hammer relentlessly comes down (The deception is repeatedly questioned) A new pariah is born (A new scapegoat is found) Chastisement lays you down to sleep Tucks you in with bloody kisses Gifts of nightmares bitter sweet Type A negative shuts me down Catch phrase will be the death of me Is this not what you came to see? What, are you not entertained? (Justification of the deception) Climb the walls till nails bleed Rip the hair, tear the seams, break the glass (Entity will do whatever it takes to keep its ruse alive, to the end of its sanity) Head in hands, bell tolls endlessly No end in sight. (The mental burden of balancing an intricate web of lies)

	I have to agree with ferry on this one. I really like the lyrics to this song. This song is one of my favorites, about half this cd is a favorite song to me, LOG has some good stuff.

	This song has fuckall to do with the government. I quite like the riffs in this song though.
