think the whole album has many political undertones and this song is about the regret of the war in Iraq. Console yourself, you're better alone Destroy yourself, see who gives a fuck Absorb yourself, you're better alone Destroy yourself I think this is aimed at the US's leadership. I'll chain you to the truth, for the truth shall set you free Where are the weapons of mass destruction? Smother another failure, lay this to rest This war is a failure and should be laid to rest. Just some thoughs.

this song kicks some serious ass, but as for it's meaning, i think it might have something to do with a person finally being able to let go of their religious beliefs, since there are references to the bible within it, i.e. ".... the truth shall set you free", also (in regards to letting it go) "... you're better off empty and blank then left with a single pathetic trace..." to me, that right there is a representation of how hard it is to drill out the teachings that are engraved into a person raised in a religious family. whatever the case is, it's obvious that this is a very multilayered song and is what i think, i great way to herald metal's saviors (maybe?)

this song is fuckin kick ass and so does Lamb of God. I recently saw them at the subliminal verses tour with Shadows Fall and Slipknot and they fuckin shook the joint. Although afther that Slipknot burned them. Now i think this song is about the contience of someone who was responsible for someone elses death. It very well maybe the government who is responsible for the troops deaths or something else. If you read it then its kind of obvious.

I do not think blatent is the right word to desribe the attacks. There are no specific names or relations mentions. That is why I used undertones. Either way I do not think this song is about religion.
