awh, i just saw these guys on the plea for peace tour, and while they were inbetween songs, me and my friend yelled "play detention" and branden looked at us and said "pardon?" so we repeated ourselves and he looks at the band and they all agree, and he says "this is for the ladies right there!" and they played it. so cute. we talked to them after the show and they are extremly nice and funny guys. if you get the chance to see them, it's deff. worth it.

This song is my favorite Lawrence Arms song. I'll be blasting it at midnight on the 31st to celebrate the New Year. It's so upbeat and motivational, not to mention completely kick-ass!

heard this on the b-sides album, and realized how great of a song it really is....if you ever think you're life isn't going the direction you want, just have a listen, and you'll immediately feel better!!

This song is about looking back on the past year with a lot of regret for where you've been and what you've done, and looking to the future hoping you'll be able to change your direction. It seems to me that he's spent the last year doing a lot of drinking and not really affecting any changes in his life and as a result he's lost someone he cared about.

Lawrence Arms, though they seeming to be dropping the political/social commentary that resonated from the Broadways, never fail to awe me. "I've got 100 resolutions, but I've got no solutions" is such a great line, as is "Another explosion of silence. I think I'm going deaf. Or maybe I'm just hearing less." Great song.

This song....probably one of my favorite TLA songs...and I've got a lot of favorite LA songs....but this one resonates with me espeically, and i don't know why. i think it's just easy for some people to relate to their songs, and i'm one of those people.

the thing about this song that i thought was really fucking awesome was, that in the chorus, chris says 'this is MY year for sure', then by the end of the song, he sings 'this is OUR year for sure'. it's a small detail to the song but i thought it was really fucking cool.
