| I always felt that Led Zeppelin chose song titles that held meaning within meaning. Even the band's name is a play on words (deliberately misspelled). On "Black Dog" I wondered if the title they chose was a more obscure reference to Sir Winston Churchill (Britain's Prime Minister during WWII) who suffered from bouts of clinical depression. Lord Churchill referred to the dark mood when it came over him as the "Black Dog". Lastly, does anyone know what the time signature of the music is on "Black Dog"? - it is like no other rock song I've ever listened to. I think it is 6/4 or possibly 9/4 time. Help! | |
