| I don't mean to be rude guys, but the song's meaning (as proclaimed by their lead singer/songwriter) is completely different than what you guys seem to be getting out of it... This song is another Christian based song (as all are, though the singer encourages his listeners to take whatever out of it they feel led to), this one about sin. The carousel that he cannot get off of is the continued trap of sin, and the final realization that he can be saved by grace alone, and can't do it on his own... The most prominent point to that effect is the line "I've tried to earn my way..." Look back at the lyrics and see if this doesn't fit. And remember, the writer himself proclaimed it. | |

| to me, this song is like saying that you're in that point in your relationship in which you must make a choice if whether you're going stay together or not. the relationship is not going to so well and it's just a cycle of bad decisions and you have to make the choice of whether or not you're going to make the right decision. hence the name "sick cycle carousel" because it's like making the same mistakes over and over and never really fixing them. | |

| They are a christian band, and its about how he goes back in forth with his religion "sick cycle carousel".. he feels as if hes going in circles and he doesnt know what to do with his life.. so he looks for trust in god and talks about getting saved. | |

| i have heard jason say himself several different times that this song is about his girlfriend. He says that they were having communication problems and this song was about a time when they had to decide weather they could get through the relationship or just call it all off. But the thing I like about Lifehouse' lyrics is that there is so many ways that you can interpret the songs and so many situations that you can apply them to. | |

| This song is definatly about because no matter how hard he tries to earn his way he can't because you can't earn salvation, you can only relize you've sinned and that you fall short of the glory of god (Romans 3:23)and believe that christ came for you and died for your sins so that you may be in heaven, and ask God to forgive your sins, that's the only way to receive salvation | |

| Ummmmm.... Interesting take, and it's fine if you see it that way, but the actual intent has been stated. | |

| this is a beautiful song and the video compliments it excellently. i agree with all of the above translations, but mostly the sin one as Jason is religious, and a lot of Lifehouse's songs tend to be related in some way to religion. anyway, gorgeous song and Jason's not bad either ;) hehe | |
