Why does it matter so much? Maybe they wrote it for God, maybe they wrote it about some girl, why they wrote it and how we interpret it in our own lives is completely different! If you love God then when you listen to the song think of how amazing he is, if your madly in love then when you hear it think of that person, theres no sense in arguing over this, at all depends on your frame of mind. Thanks.

I don't think the song is about Christianity. I think the song is somewhat mixed. The beginning sounds like he is chasing after a girl but if kind of afraid to get into a relationship. "Why would I chase your shadow all my life? And be afraid of my own I'd rather be with you I'd rather not know Where I’ll be and be alone and convinced that I know" This says that he wants to go out with the girl but he doesn't want to have it crash and burn and he needs time to think about it. "When the world keeps spinning round My world’s upside down And I wouldn't change a thing I’ve got nothing else to lose I lost it all when I found you And I wouldn't change a thing No, you and I wouldn't change a thing" He is thinking about how it could be if he asks the girl out, how good it could be. How he doesn't need anything else. "Everything I know has let me down So I will just let go Let you turn me inside out Because I know I'm not sure About anything" He is saying that his life has been cruel to him and he doesn't want to get hurt again so he'll just take the pain of never knowing about if it would work out. "Spinning Turning Watching Burning All my life has found it's meaning Walking Crawling Climbing Falling All my life has found it's meaning" This is kind of like the good close to the song. The spinning, turning, burning parts indicate the bad parts of his life but he's found all his life's meaning in a girl and even though his life may not be perfect, she lifts him up.

"We are not a 'Christian band,' but I'm a Christian, and the bass player [Sergio] is a Christian," Jason told UCLA's Daily Bruin Online. And then in a Rolling Stone magazine interview, Jason said, "My music is spiritually based, but we don't want to be labeled as a 'Christian band,' because all of a sudden people's walls come up and they won't listen to your music and what you have to say."

I just don’t think this is a Christian band it always seems like they are talking about some girl..... If they were Christian then they should not have any reason not to say Jesus or God in there lyrics.....Just another creed to me……. if you’re Christian say it!

you know guys, you can take any song and find a line that makes it seem like the band is christian. does that mean it is?

actually lifehosue has said straight up that hanging by a moment was a spiritual song and that they are kinda achristian band---but they want you to interpret it how you want to interpret it... not all christian bands mention god b/c they want nonchristians to get into the music and then realize it and perhaps be affected... POD is blatantly "hey we're christian" but theyre lyrics don't say that... you know?

I simply think this song is about a person giving themselves and devoting themselves to another person. Whether it be God, or just a girl, or a friend, theyre giving themselves up. I do believe they are christian. I went to Cornerstone and saw Skillet in concert, and they were singing Everything by Lifehouse. :) That made me happy because that was the first time I really realized that they were somewhat Christian. Maybe they didn't use the Lord's name because they wanted people to interrpet their music in their own way.
