This, obviously, is a song written to explain the difference between talent and "childish hip hop ryhmes." I don't mean to be stereotypical, but it seems that everyone wants to be a raper, but like Mike says, "You want to be an emcee you’ve got to study the skill." I don't think most rappers understand the concept of vibe of rock and hip hop Linkin Park is talking about. So, basically, I think Mike is trying to say is if you think you have real skill, then you should step up, and show what you've got.

I read he was putting a certain FRED DURST in his sellout place... watch and read the evidence "And a DJ in the group just for credibility" hmmm? or hows about " Sounding like the only hip hop you’ve heard is top 40 And your record company is completely missing it All the kids are dissing it for not being legitimate" so... this is an okay song really PART OF ME is ten times better nd this is just more rap too much rap for my metl senses let's get to the RAPMOBILE, Andre

about the song and one... it related to me when i was in another state staying at my sisters place and i got into a fight with a friend ... these lyrics sounded like my situation and the rest but mostly these were the feelings .... ''Left all alone Far from my home No one to hear me, to heal my ill heart, I Keep it locked up inside Cannot express To the point I’ve regressed If anger’s a gift, then I guess I’ve been blessed, ''

hey adidaskornkid2002... with that chick-magnet net handle, there is no doubt in my mind that you are a prime example of all that is white cracker. as far as your opinion goes, you sir, are an idiot. linkin park is not saying anything about dre, eminem, or nelly. you are, to say the absoloute least, a complete moron. in fact, if you are " stickin' with the real shit ", stick with something that doesn't make you sound like an imbecile. everyone has their own style, you dolt. and if you are speaking on being a poser, what are you? adidas korn kid. three words that sum up your superb tase and class. when you are done rummaging through the trash in your trailer to come up with some change for the library computer, maybe you can come on by here and give me a reply with some insight into what REAL hip hop is. xzibit and eminem my friend? you must be joking. piss off.

i agree with alkalin3trio if you want to draw comparisons to other ppl who you think this song is about then fine..but maybe linkin park were talking about someone other than the world famous rappers (if they were even talking about someone in paticular 0 they could have bin tlkn in general)..and does anyone see a bit of contridiction in mike's lyrics? how he is dissing bands for having djs rappers etc wen linkin park have the same? but it may be only me..anyway i do like linkin park so dont think i am dissing them..but just brorden your outlook on rappers...not just nelly and eminem...

Comming home from a soccer game tonight that had many a trash talkers in it, and many a people getting on my nerves and about to get their heads kicked in, I heard this song and it sparked the fire in me to go run a couple of them over. Sadly, I wasn't around them. Basically what I am saying is that, it is a powerful song that will put you in the modd to go kill someone if you are on the edge. Don't over exaggerate though. Dead people aren't good for anything. Listen and Feel.
