| i think the songs about not needing any proof or ideas from other people that the existence of god and heaven exists, because he can just look around, especially at his daughter and realize that there must be a god. something around those lines. ;\ im not much on religion or god here. | |

| if you listen to live at all it's pretty clear that they aren't praising "god" I think this song is more about appreciating LIFE and saying appreciate this and make this life heaven instead of wasting it all away | |

| This is definitely not a satirical attack. Live has always been a band of Christians. They don't prostitute themselves for Xian label music companies (probably because they actually have talent), but they are very open about their faith. This song is about the renewal of faith. It is the sacrifice of reason and better sense. It is the anthem of those who choose to stick their heads in the sand. It's just a very arrogant, albeit fatuous, statement of faith. | |

| well, we all take lyrics and twist them to mean what we need them to mean individually. We interpret according to our own experiences and beliefs. So - as a mother of six - this song for ME means, you look at that little face, those little hands, those little toes, that little nose and you feel your own spirituality. For me, it is about believing in my OWN faith - trusting my OWN feelings in a world where people, religions, and organizations are so strongly attempting to tell me how I SHOULD feel. I don't need anyone to tell me how it is - I have my own truth in my heart - and that truth speaks loudest when I look at my children - or hold my husbands hand - or read or hear something beautiful. I am religious so my statement is not against religion - it's just about maintaining my own truths. | |

| Darling I believe Sometimes it's hard to breathe At the bottom of the sea possibly a comparation of religious beliefs, the fact that this is true is given. Also, the word "sometimes" suggests that this belief pales in comparison to the belief in god | |

| To me, this song is about looking at the world around you, taking it in, and deciding for yourself what you believe. "take back your evidence, it has no power to decieve" "I believe it, when I see it for myself" These lines, coupled with the chorus seem to indicate that he's saying that you don't need people to tell you what is right and what you should believe. you can do it yourself. great song | |

| He's spiritual (believes in God), not religious. Actually this is a satirical attack on religious believers who depend on preachers/clerics to give them religion. Rather, he believes of his own volition, by what he feels from within, which is reinforced by the beauty around him, such as sunsets and his daughter. Also, he separates himself from the atheist by saying that he doesn't require proof, his belief comes from within. | |

| This is a ripoff of a Zwan song called "Yeah!" The vocal melody is different, but everything else is practically unchanged. Fuck you, Live. | |

| Yeah I more or less agree with atomix, that this song is about having a renewed faith in God after the birth of his daughter. I don't think the song is irreligious, I think he's actually stating that, for him, this is evidence that God is around him. I'm surprised that Ed K. is not a Christian because his songs seem to be about reconciling the world around him with being a Christian. It seems he does not like the way that Christianity is taught and the ultraconservative nature and its leadership and blind faith of some Christian values among many of its followers and so forth. I am irreligious and definitely do not believe in Heaven and Hell, so I don't particularly like this song, the lyrics annoy me in that way, but I'm mostly confused why people say that he's not a Christian - he sure seems to think about Christianity so much for a non-Christian... | |
