This is my second Louis XIV tab, it is

| To be dead honest (no awkward pun intended), I used to think this was a love song about a girl named Dominique who moved away and the guy and her best friend are missing her. Yeah... Right. =P Then again, all I could understand from the words were that Dominique's gone, she's cute, and she took a stroll. How rare. I'm torn between the two ideas that it's suicide or murder. Automatically, I would assume suicide... but the clues seem to hint more to murder. I think that she was suicidal enough to begin with so they killed her off... and nobody would think much of it because, hey, she was suicidal already, right? ;) | |

| This is probably my favorite song right now. At first, before I read the lyrics, I thought Dominque was murdered. "Your last stroll down the block was in the trunk of a car" could mean she was killed and shoved in a car... But it makes much more sense that she commit suicide. | |

| This song is about a girl who commit suicide (obviously) Of course, she's been contemplating it for a long while - "Still I know you want a strangle or a mouth full/Of gasoline or to be tied up and stoned" "The countless ways you thought to die no hesitation/Fantasize long enough, you know it just might come true" But now she's actually done it - "Your last stroll down the block was in the trunk of a car" The writer/singer/view point is writing letters to her, as if it was his way of dealing with his grief - "I wrote to tell you that I hope you’re feeling better" He hopes that all her pain has gone and she's happy where ever she is now, because he cares for her | |

| I think it would be too obvious to be a suicide. The song has more of an upbeat tune, so I am thinking she was framed to look like she committed suicide. But she was murdered. | |

| Obviously it's about Dominique committing suicide. She had been contemplating it for a long time - "You have a bold imagination/ The countless ways to die". The "last stroll down the block was in the trunk of a car" refers to her coffin in the back of a hearse. I read the lyrics before actualy listening to the song, and was expecting a slow sad song (a la With Or Without You). How wrong I was. | |

| I reckon it was suicide, but I don't think that the writer of the song particularly cared for her. I think he knew her because she lived on his road, and maybe he talked to her every once in a while, sees her writing her 'own death letter' on her front porch or something, heard about all her suicide attempts, but was sort of attracted to the thought. He describes her as 'delightful', not exactly the most romantic of words, so I'd say he just had a bit of a crush on her, in a wierd louis XIV way. They're odd anyway. I think that the upbeat tempo and happy feeling to this song accompanied with the creepy lyrics is what makes it so good. My favourite at the moment! Rambling comment :) | |
