Notes:
This piece is a classic. Have fun with the riffs, play variations of each
riff. The solo riff is especially fun to mess around with. The two best
scales for that riff are G minor and G dorian.

| I said 2 guitars, I guess I should have said 3 as Mike15880 already did. I didn't even see that post, I guess he already explained it. | |

| hey different opinions.thats all....i feel its not one of the best and the best part of the song is the guitar solo.it is in a league with stairway to heaven, but it's not better than it | |

| this song is great. i'm sure most of you have your own occasion that it makes you think of. to me it's like this guy loves his girl but he just can't stay, something's taking him away... his independence, having to move, whatever, it's just something. i was listening to it with my guy before i had to go somewhere and we knew i wouldn't hear from him for a few weeks cuz by the time i got home he'd be somewhere else as well... so it reminds me of him. | |

| not to say that this band isnt the greatest (cause they are!!!) but can you actually believe that MCA Records wanted Skynyrd to actually cut this song from their debut album, saying that it was too long!!! Could you imagine Pronounced lehnerd skenerd w/o FREE BIRD I think not, and yes i have to agree i have seen them live 4 times, the last after Leon passed :(, but that song gets bigger and badder each time (Did i mention it got me intrigued enough to start playing guitar !!! ) | |
