He feels as though he's already dead. Right now he's still alive, but very much he is dead (or perhaps who he once was is not dead, and he's someone else). Dead on the inside. And he's fed up with being alive but not feeling alive. That's my take.

Life after death could be dealing with life without alcohol. However he mentions that he'll never get sober, so perhaps he's simply referring to a hangover. Each night he drinks he "dies" and then comes back to miserable life.

i think the life after death think is basically saying that cuz he's drunk all the time, the person he was without alcohol has died, and now he's just leading the life of an alcoholic, hence life after death

The only part of this song that doesn't fit to me, is "I'm fed up with this miserable life after death" I took it to mean I don't like what's coming in the afterlife, but I'm not sure how this fits into the song. It would make sense if he dreaded it, because he seems to have done some sort of crime while drunk. Why is he "fed up". though?
