	What a ridiculously good song, one of my favourites and certainly my favourite from Marillion in particular (fugazi or script as a close second). I remember immaturely thinking "hm the longest song must be the best [on misplaced childhood]" and lo and behold I was actually right... anyways, its meaning is extremely ambiguous and I was hoping some Fish zealot would know if there's an intentional meaning. To me it seems like it's one of the many pieces he wrote while on acid and (like the person before me) I think it's about more general themes in the album and not some specific incident he recalls. Look harder kids, this song's a fucking mystery

	My all time fav. Marillion song and possibly their best piece ever. I'm suprised no one has commented on this yet. Mainly its all liked to the concept of "Misplaced Childhood"... loss of the loved ones, lost childhood, sudden sucsess and war.

	It's a series of reminisces, probably written as fragments at different times, in keeping with the themes of the album; lost love, regret, loss of innocence etc. The ending is the backdrop to the desolation - more desolation! The Cold War, Britain, West Germany, Northern Ireland, and tv news. And all that piled on top of the personal desolation / desperation "Oh, I can't take anymore!" Mylo and Threshold are the best sections IMO.
