every day human life SUCKS. we devote our lives to making others think the way we do. "Isolation is the oxygen mask" - yeah, we isolate ourselves from what we think is wrong, or from what we disagree with. we do the same to our kids. so many people are brought up brainwashed by their parents who thought they were doin their right thing by forcing certain religious/political beliefs on their children. and now their children are drones and hate/avoid others that disagree with their enforced views. BRAVO. the way i take the chorus, if i were singing it, i'd be saying, hey, i'm not a slave to a god i'm not sure exists - not a slave to the one you sell me in your pamphlets, in your churches, your movies, etc. and im not about to let "a world that doesnt give a shit" control my every action, cuz i dont particularly feel like conforming to society's zombies. "You'll never grow up to be a big- rock-star-celebrated-victim-of-your-fame" we are all brought up to think we'll be mediocre people, JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE. they cut our wrists like cheap coupons - yup, death. all around us, sold to us, we are all here on earth DYING as opposed to LIVING. (well not all of us). then of course, "when we were good..." i've made this point somewhere before, people focus their attention on the BAD rather than the good, cuz for some reason we just naturally need to feel this anger or what not, and to have our minds scarred is the result we bring upon ourselves. The Death of one is a tragedy. yes, you know a person, know about them, see their picture, hear their eulogy, and it's tragic. The Death of a million is just a statistic. Yup. Take the group and count it as a statistic million instead of a million individual tragedies. we are so blind.

This song is great, but I believe in a god. I really don't give a mothah effin' (BLEEP!) if MM does not, nor anyone else, believe in a god. We will just see who is right once our road ends...?

"And when we were good you just closed you eyes So when we are bad we're scar your minds" that part seems to be saying that when manson's music was just straight, positive-themed rock no one gave a shit and just closed their eyes to him. so now he's playing these dark rock songs he's gonna scar peopkle's minds and make them listen. and he's done that pretty well so far.

well, you know, I am a christian, and I am NOT pissed off(undestinedfaith). It does seem to be a bit of an atheist song, but I believe if you are a true christian, you will not let it effect you. and you can turn it another way: I'm not a slave to a god that doesn't exist!!! I am a slave to a god that DOES exist, so I am not a slave to a pagan god(It sounds mean, I don't mean it meanly, I am just not a wicca!) I do agree with many of you: Good girls are ignored...bad girls are treated like sluts and whores... and its NOT FAIR!!! and people wonder why there are so many f***ing screw ups in this world... ~Olivia~

marilyn manson knows that god does not exist. he is humored by the people who follow organized religion like cattle follow in the direction they are hearded. they have no inidividual minds and therefore become a statistic. every once in a while, someone like manson comes along though, and makes himself more than a statistic, he makes a personal statement. manson is no slave to the gods that do not exist, long live the anti-christ.
