Song: Harder to Breathe
Band: Maroon 5
Album: Songs About Jane
Tabber: Tyler (Tbassist4 on AIM) (Bassman478@yahoo.com)
Tuning: Standard EADG

Wow im the first to tab this... anyways,
If you're new at bass and have trouble with those
quick |-2-4-|'s then u can use hammer ons |-2h4-|
without too much of a change in sound :)
This song was definetely written with the minor
pentatonic scale in mind, lol, follow the tabs
from top to bottom for the order, and i didn't include
a timing, but its really easy to figure out, one more
thing, theres no double diget frets, well here ya go:

~ = let the note ring for a short time

Bass comes in a little later, around (but not exactly) when he says:
"if I do you'll need a miracle" with:

G|-----------|
D|-------2-4-|
A|---2-4-----|
E|-4---------|

Then go right into verse

Verse 1
G|--------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------2-4--|
A|-2-4-----2-4--------2-4-----2-4----2-4------|
E|--------------4------------------4----------|

G|------------------------------|
D|------------------------------|
A|-2-4-----2-4--------2-4----4--|
E|--------------4---------------|

Chorus
G|------------------------| G|------------------------|
D|------------------------| D|------------------------|
A|-4~-------2~------------| x2 A|-4~-------2~------------|
E|---4-4-4~---2-2-22-0-2--| E|---4-4-4~---2-2-23-2-0--|

this is played when hes sayin "is there anyone out there..."
shouldn't be hard to line up notes with the song
G|------------------------------------------|
D|---is there anyone out there 'cause...----|
A|-4----------------------------------------| x2
E|------------------------------------------|

Verse 2 (same as verse 1)
G|--------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------2-4--|
A|-2-4-----2-4--------2-4-----2-4----2-4------|
E|--------------4------------------4----------|

G|------------------------------|
D|------------------------------|
A|-2-4-----2-4--------2-4----4--|
E|--------------4---------------|

Chorus (once again same as before)
G|------------------------| G|------------------------|
D|------------------------| D|------------------------|
A|-4~-------2~------------| x2 A|-4~-------2~------------|
E|---4-4-4~---2-2-22-0-2--| E|---4-4-4~---2-2-23-2-0--|

this is played in same spot as last time
G|------------------------------------------|
D|---is there anyone out there 'cause...----|
A|-4----------------------------------------| x2
E|------------------------------------------|

Interlude/bridge
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------4-2-----------------------------------------------------|
A|-44~-44-44~-4~44-4-----4-2-4~44-44-4~44-4-------4~44-44-4~-----------------|
E|------------------------------------------4-2-4~-----------2-4-2-4-2-4-2-0-|

Chorus (and again same as before)
G|------------------------| G|------------------------|
D|------------------------| D|------------------------|
A|-4~-------2~------------| x2 A|-4~-------2~------------|
E|---4-4-4~---2-2-22-0-2--| E|---4-4-4~---2-2-23-2-0--|

(a little different this time)
G|---------------------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------(now play like the times before)----|
A|-4~4-4-44~3~4-4-4--------4-----------------------------------4-|
E|------------------3-2-0----------------------------------------|

Ending (simple as it gets, you should have no trouble with this)
G|-----|
D|-----|
A|-2-4-|
E|-----|

I totally agree. I purchased the cd when it first came out. They are well over do for a new album.

I've known Maroon5 for over 2 years... their still awesome and up there on my list but I can't help but get sad that their on MTV now. Now their new cd will be delayed when they shouldv'e came out with one already... and I hope they keep remembering where they came from.

ooh, i just wanted to ask if Maroon 5 have any albums out besides Songs About Jane. Not from when they were Kara's Flowers though. I love every song of theirs. A response would be great as I am in Australia and they aren't really known over here. Can't find out any good stuff about them. Thanks.

at first i thought this song was post break-up, but now i think he is in a bad relationship where the girls screwing with his head and is saying she wants out and stuff, yet she knows she cant leave him cause she'll be lonely - which is why he says i have the control.
