Mars Volta Eriatarka Bass Tab

Eriatarka Guitar Tab
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eriatarka - The Mars Volta
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is one of the many Mars Volta bass tabs I submitted to UG. I take no credit for
because none of them are mine. I submitted them here because of the lack of Mars Volta bass tabs.

Band – Mars Volta
Song – Eriatarka
-Album – Deloused in the Comatorium
Tabbed by underthebridge1992

Standard Tuning E A D G

This is probably the most complicated song I’ve tabbed out yet. It’s pretty easy to play
though apart from the timing.

Badass song...I'm pretty sure this is where Cerpin is being operated on by Dr. Wolfgang and is turning into the Clavietika. The name of the house where he is being operated on is called Eriatarka, so maybe the connection is that for the first time Cerpin feels safe and at home in his crazy trip. Also, this is the first part of the story where he awakens from his coma for a few seconds I believe (don't hold me on that..not positive).

There's a lot of wrong information here. The album is based on the drug-induced coma of their friend who later killed himself. He was the subject of Embroglio as well, but Cedric and Omar felt that a song wasn't enough to memorialize him with, so they made the album. The storybook is written by Omar in an attempt to give some depth to the absurdly abstract lyrics. If you're wondering why the storybook isn't in an extremely coherent writing style, look at the lyrics. These guys aren't too big into making things easy to understand.

angelofsilences is mostly right imo. at first he is singing about how it is debatable that clavietka's singing is killing all the tremulants which cerpin created during his life of consciousness and drug use (those that he meets at first and bring him down into tremula metacarpi/rejuza, their goal is to keep him in the comatorium by not letting him die or come back to the surface of the real, I think they also nominated him as their prince, as he is ther creator, it explains their conception on page 4 and 5 of the book) I'm a little confused because it also seems as if they want to completely annihilate Clavietka wouldn't that kill Cerpin?. Clavietka tres ojos (three eyes) was created by Dr Wolfram Tarant in his basement from the tattered Cerpin by using his hands that had animal heads for fingers. they graft tentacles and wings onto his body (which is now a her) and his body became amoeba like, with siren-like powers(for those of you who have read the Odyessy), Cerpin barely remembers who he really is, like he is in Clavietka's body only observing what is happening. "Now there are those who find Comfort in the breathing Wrong-is it wrong It houses the watchful eyes They're panting in a pattern in droves Are they gone" i think this is a double metaphor, speaking about the debate about pulling the plug on cerpins body in the real world and towering over his hospital bed watching him, and also about the tremulants tracking him/her and the fact that he doesn't need to breathe in this realm (there is a qoute somewhere in the book stating that breathing is not necessary, but he mentally must do it out of necessity to know he is alive or something. The tremulants are trying to capture her, most likely to bring her down, and turn her back into cerpin, the form of which he cannot escape the comatorium and wreak havoc. (just a guess and open to criticism) They employed cerpins sworn enemy, "an obese boar" by the name of koral mataxia. Cerpin is to surrender his most beloved (anbody have a clue who that is?) to the beast. It is also noted that there is a civil war and corruption among the tremulants. they track her and encounter her not knowing what they have gotten themselves into. this is as far as i have gotten in the book (pg 13) what i dont understand in the lyrics is trackmarked ameoba lands craft (maybe something about the tremulants tracking the amoeba-esque clavietka) cartwheel of scratches dress the tapeworm as pets (have no clue) "Tentacles smirk please Flinch the cacooned meat" (maybe about clavietka attacking the tremulants who are giant ants with human heads on ther backs (coccooned meat being the flesh inside of their exoskeletons)) "infra-reco forgets" (maybe about how Cerpin has little or no recollection of who he really is and how he became Clavietka OR how the tremulants are naive about the powers of Clavietka, as it seems they have dealt with a being of this sort before) "evaporated the fur because it covers them" (another reference to the tremulants being destroyed by Clavietka again? If this is the case, i didn't know they had fur) "if you only knew the plans they had for us " (i assume this is referring to how Dr Tarant said that he must turn Cerpin into the slaughtering siren Clavietka. he states “If it wasn’t for him where would tremula be, I forsee with pleasure...there must be organization in this chaos. do what thou wilt spreads very thinly...our very existence depends on your wrath” he is acknowledging Cerpin is the creator and the savior of the world of his own creating, but he has no choice and must be transformed from the frail creature he is into the near-indestuctable Clavietka) i'm just barely getting into this cd, i'm a late bloomin TMV fan, just barely heard of them in jan 05! Please, some input! i know its a couple years old, but it is an ongoing effort to understand this story, i have read the first couple pages twice, and each time i learn more, bible-esque in that sense isn't it?
