i'm pretty much agreeing with everyone's comments. but, i've always felt that this song was about being stuck and accepting the fact: "if there's nothing there to make things change, if it's the same for you i'll just hang." it's like he's giving up the fight. fucking awesome song, i could listen to it a hundred times in a row!!

I think this song is about a guy that wasn't paying attention that his girlfriend and his relationship was falling apart and then finally she jsut packs her things and she goes and leaves him and then after she's gone he has nothing to his life so he "hangs" himself but i not sure if he atcually is going to kill himself or is he jsut going to hang around waiting for to come back... anyone want to clear that up?

To me it's a one-sided break-up. The guy doesn't like it one bit but there's nothing he can really do. "He knows, she's been here too few years, to be gone" for example. And my fav lines "The trouble understand, is she got reasons he don't" If you've ever been broken up with you should understand that. It's a hell of a lot easier if you've got a reason.

This song does fuckin rock. I think it is about a guy and a girl who are in love, but the guy puts the chic through hell, sometimes without even realizing what he does (funny how he couldn't see it all till she grabbed up her coat). I think that both people know they need to either change or get out of the relationship but instead they just "hang" and wait for the problems to be forgotten until it all just builds up and it is clear that one must leave. I had a relationship like this and this song still makes me cry, it was like I was never appreciated until I had one foot out the door. The entire relationship we both threatened constantlly to leave, but he never thought I actually would...and I still miss him.

I really love this song, its probably my favorite MB20 track. To me this song is about stying in something that you know isnt good for you, most probably a relationship. You know that you will probably just end up getting hurt in the end but you care about someone so much that you just dont care about the things that could happen to you.

I like your views. This song is so simple yet beautiful. I love the lines that Kyle Cook (guitar player) sings in it. The line that hits me here is "we always say it would be good to go away someday...". It's like Vavavoom said, sometimes you can see clearly that things are not the way you expected them to be, and you wish you could change them so badly, get them back to good...but you are too lazy to change, and you just stay the same.

I never read the lyrics to this song before, and now I feel like I just wanna listen to this CD over and over again. I think butterflylove82 is right on with the meaning. Its about a relationship of convenience basically. They'll 'just hang' until one of them finally leaves, or something else better comes along.

also, i think the line "we always say it would be good to go away someday" refers to people who think going away or whatever will fix their relationship problems but "there's nothing there to make things change" in other words they will go back to being who they truly are, so why bother?

This is such a sad, touching song. I think it's about a husband and wife seperating "she grabs her magazines she packs here things and she goes she leaves the pictures hanging on the wall, she burns all her notes and she knows, she's been her too few years, to feel this old"

Weird, but this will always remind me of high school. We got beat in the state soccer playoffs, and on the way home, we just listened to this song and cried. It still makes me sad when I hear it, not so much because we lost the game, but because it reminds me of a great time that I can never go back to.

I love this song. Anyone who's been in a relationship you knew wouldn't work but still you just stay. It's an excellent song!!! They wrote words to how I've felt and couldn't explain!
